Hi,
Is there a place where you can download high-res PJ albums? It doesn't seem like any are for sale on the pono site. Most of them say "coming soon."
Thanks!
Thanks!! Are there studio albums on there, or just the bootlegs? The Bootleg FLAC-HDs sound amazing, and I was hoping to get a couple of the albums in a high res format. Thanks!
Awesome peeps. Thanks! I love the idea of vinyl, but I can't pay the amount that the originals are going for. My Yield cd is totally jacked up, and I really wanted the vinyl version, but a high res digital file would totally make my day! I've been thinking about buying the pono, because I despise itunes....it can't play my Flac! Thanks again, happy new years, sorry for the ramble...
The Pono store is still in Beta. You can only access the music and buy it if you have a Pono account set up. I purchased a Pono player and I was emailed login info when my player shipped. When I log in it goes from coming soon to the actual price. If it helps I'm loving my Pono, even my 16/44.1 cd uploads sound better.

Nice! That's good to hear. I really want one. I can't stand itunes, but I'm still using it....
How do the PJ high res studio albums sound, and I'm also curious what they cost?

Man I purchased Moline and Milwaukee both in HD Flac since I went to the Milwaukee show. They sound absolutely amazing, I actually ripped my vinyl PJ albums in 24-96 digital and loaded them on my Pono since not all albums are available in HD yet. But you can't go wrong with the bootlegs they sound great. Unfortunately the artist addition Pono players were for Kickstarter backers. You can still find them on EBay if you want, the rumor mill is saying there will be more artist additions with the next Pono model. I recommend joining the Pono community, it's great learning from all the audiophiles.
Ten, VS, and Lightning Bolt sound great in 24 bit. I personally love the sound vs iTunes. With a good set of cans it feels like I'm in the studio with them. On the Foo Fighters The Colour and The Shape I heard background noises I've never heard before on the album.
Nice! Thanks!
It looks like you can buy a non-artist addition ($399), but is the artist addition the only way you can get with the PJ high res albums (e.g., LB, VS. Ten)? I don't mind not having the artist addition. I've ripped the albums I have to 24-96 too! They do sound great, but I have limited ways of playing them! (only through my computer).
Q...is there somewhere to buy Benaroya in FLAC? ( or best program for mac to rip my CD? )
thanks

iTunes. Change the import settings to "Apple Lossless Encoder" to get ALAC files. They are lossless and comparable to FLAC, but can be played on iTunes (as well as many other players)

True! I haven't been able to get them to work consistently. I bought Denver 2014 in HD FLAC and converted it, and when I tried to import to itunes, it just said "waiting" next to the song for weeks.

Benaroya would be amazing in HD! I wish I knew where you could get it!
There's a sweet vinyl > 24Bit 96kHz rip out there.
Lineage: Music Hall MMF-5, Grado Gold cartridge, ION USB Recorder, Audacity on Sony VAIO. Saved as 24/96 lossless WAVs, copied to Mac OS X Lion, saved as lossless FLACs with xACT.

Looks interesting, but so many are 16bit/44.1kHz, I might as well just rip my CDs
The info on the resolution is new since I looked at the site a few days ago, and it looks like you can actually purchase them now! That's pretty cool. But, you're right, most are cd quality. I REALLY want Yield in high res. I've just really struck out on the vinyl.....sort of giving up on it.
If you're hesitant about dropping $400 on a Pono check out the Fiio players on Amazon they also play high res audio files but are cheaper, many different models available.
I just bought a DAC for my home system and LOVE it. 24bit digital is the way to go, almost has me preferring it over vinyl. But in portable situations I'm happy with MP3s, so Pono was not for me.

I don't mind seeing the 16 bit files, I just wish they wouldn't charge inflated prices. $12.99, when I could buy the CD (with all the nice packaging) for $6.99
if you could buy one HD album (doesn't have to be PJ) ...to really get the 'feel' of high def sound...what would it be?

And soon over @ https://ponomusic.force.com/
Thanks! It doesn't look like the studio albums are available on those sites, but the boots are available at nugs of course (livedownloads).

Thanks! That seems more reasonable right now.
I kinda wished the 16Bt Flacs were not available for sale over on Pono. That they only sold 24Bit Flac quality audio files.
That's a good point. I'd like to see them expand their availability too! But it sounds like they are working on it.
