    Hey all....I'm doing good, cancer wise. Giants wise, not so much. X(

    the other night, I came home rather late and thought I'd check my email before bed (maybe it was before another beer....I dunno :))) anyway, I got an email from another cancer survivor I met a couple of years ago. when I met this guy, he actually seemed fine...maybe cured. unfortunately, his email stated he had 2 new tumors in his brain and 2 new in his lungs...and they're growing. this all started with a freak, pea sized melanoma in his mouth (of all places). poor guy....I feel awful. just remember whatever shit is going on in your life, it could be way worse.

    Hi Rob,
    I have not been on the boards for ages...life is very busy. Anyway. we were at the hospital with Sammy the other day and the doctor announces that we have to have a party in October. I ask why and she says, "Because Sammy will be 5 years clear then!!!!!" I am so thrilled that he has almost made it to this major milestone and then I immediately thought of you and wanted to see how you are doing. It looks like you are doing brilliantly!!! I am soooooo glad. Cancer still sucks (I'm sorry to hear about your friend) but it;s good to know that sometimes we can kick its ass!!

    ^^^^^ Hi Katy - sorry I missed this. Hooray for you and Sammy Superman!! That is awesome news.

    I'm doing great, but am going in for a cancer related surgery tomorrow. The cancer isn't back, but "my guy" has to rearrange my guts again. He has warned me that it's going to HURT....usually a surgeon won't tell you that....he also said he can't do the surgery laproscopically because he would be "bending instruments" @-) . I can just envision him with his knee(s) on my chest, getting some leverage...

    they say I'll be in the hospital for anywhere from 2 to 5 days. I just hope our puppy Piper can tell her old man is a little sore when I come home.

    P.S. I just passed three years cancer free and I think three is a milestone as well. When I hit five years, Sammy will be at seven :D
