Because this is a PJ board, Infallible is a much better song about our responsibility to stand up for the environment.0
-
For a NY comparison, Be The Rain was a much better song that is about saving the environment.0

Well, Neil started smoking weed again... so maybe he needs to ease back into writing songs while stoned. I heard this one at Farm Aid and wasn't big on it. Much preferred the anti-fracking line he adlibbed in RITFW.

I love NY, but this time for me.... bad means shit haha. Who knows- maybe it will grow on me.brianlux said:I'm not sure what you guys mean by "bad". I'm 63 so I grew up thinking "bad" meant "bad". Then another generation came along and "bad" was "good". Is "bad" "bad" again? Anyway, I like the clip and song, Colberts quip "Neil Young and Crazy Host" cracked me up, Colberts little one not Neilish solo was awesome and I'm happy to see a guy like Neil, 5 years older than me, still out their doing it.
Long May You Run, Neil!
And to clarify...I'm not saying "The Shit". Just shit.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

Yeah, I can't argue with that. I just figure at 68, any thing Neil puts out is good because the day he puts out nothing he will no longer be walking among the living. My favorite NY environmental related song is "A Natural Beauty" from Harvest Moon followed by "Mother Earth (Natural Anthem)" from Ragged Glory.Tim Simmons said:For a NY comparison, Be The Rain was a much better song that is about saving the environment.

WOW! Check this out! How cool for Neil!
Over the past year, Neil Young has played a number of different roles: science-fiction writer, painter, tech entrepreneur and, of course, musician. Relaxing in one of his tour buses before a show in Philadelphia, Mr. Young, 68, says that lately he is seeing the world differently.
He means it literally: A friend gave the colorblind Mr. Young a new pair of sunglasses that allows him to see red and green. “Things jump out that didn’t jump out before,” he says excitedly. “I’ll be driving along the highway looking out, and I’ll see a green lawn, and I’ll say, ‘Wow!’ ”

I finally got a chance to listen to Howard Stern's interview of NY. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed at all with The King Of Media's work here. He proclaims to be a huge Neil fan, but he was misinformed on several items that a real fan would know and did not get into anything too deep. Plus he made the same Crosby joke five times and made a half assed reference about Pegi/Daryl that went nowhere. Too bad- I thought that had the makings of a classic...severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I had a feeling this record was going to be either really good or bomb. If the rest of the album is like this, it's going to be one of my favorites. Oh man!goldrush said:The video for When I Watch You Sleeping is up on Rolling Stone

Yeah I really like this song. It's a lot better than Who's Gonna Stand Up that's for sure so I'm looking forward to the album more now. My wife bought me the 2cd version (with the acoustic disc) yesterday but she says I can't have it until my birthday on Sunday!brianlux said:

I paid $300 to sit row 5 or so in philly... loved every second of it... they would have been $500+ on the secondary market... neil cuts them out by charging more and having them will call pickup only... I think it is genius and allows me to buy a great ticket directly from the artist instead of dealing with flippers... I absolutely love his tiered pricing system for theater shows... it is the only way to do business at this point for larger acts at smaller venues...backseatLover12 said:$350 for the best tickets, Uncle Neil, REALLY???

I can't afford you!!
It amazes me how people dont understand or appreciate this concept... they see the price and act shocked... but then they think it is normal to see premium tickets on stub hub for $1,000 lolPost edited by my2hands on0 -

every tour since the first CSNY reunion tour neil's tickets have been way over priced and he's been getting away with it for awhile. there is already a system in place that is much better than gouging your long term loyal fans for up close tickets.my2hands said:

paperless tickets-just like cat stevens did on this tour. 2 tickets per person max. bring your cc and scan it at the door and in you go. no transference from ticket buyer to ticket user
having said this i thought neil did a good job when he went out on tour with wilco...decent priced ga floor tickets but he still gouged the people who wanted reserved seats for that tour
$300 to see neil is insane. there is no justification for him charging that amount.0 -
wow I didn't know his tix had gotten so expensive.
saw him with Crazy Horse in 2012 and only paid about $75.
decent seats too.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

i saw about 5 of the crazy horse shows in the past few years and never paid more than $75 for GA... it is the small venues that he does the tiered pricing system as far as i can tell... and again, i love itlolobugg said:wow I didn't know his tix had gotten so expensive.

GA in a 15,000 seat arena seemed properly priced at $75...
First 10 rows in a small 2,000 seat theater priced at $250 seems properly priced as well... because if you want cheaper tickets he has them as well, you can get into a small theater show for $75 or less if you dont mind sitting in the balcony or whatever... to me it gives everyone a chance at a ticket they want or can afford or not afford

I remember paying about $65 on the Le Noise/Twisted Road tour in 2010
and I was in the balcony. was still one of the most amazing things I have ever seen and just as fucking loud as with the full band.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446
