I wanted to share something very personal with you in the hopes that my experience can help others. A few weeks ago, I started experiencing some unusual symptoms, including dizziness, insomnia, headaches, tingling/numbness in my hands, stiff neck & pain. Even for a drummer, these symptoms were unusual for me so I went to the doctor to get it checked out. After having some pretty exotic tests, they have diagnosed me with something called Chiari Malformations, or CMs for short. Essentially, CM's are structural defects in part of the brain and skull which control balance and other functions, such as the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which is the liquid that surrounds and cushions the brain & spinal cord. CM has different causes. Some are caused by structural defects in the brain & spinal cord that occur during pregnancy. It can also occur later in life through a number of different causes. But however it happened, I've got it and as bad as it is, I'm grateful that they caught it now so that I can have it addressed before things get worse. The good news is that there's a surgical solution for it that is usually effective. The bad news is that when Rob, Pete & I tried to rehearse this week for the Moon Block Festival on Saturday, I realized that the effects of this illness has made it impossible for me to play drums. I just can't do the music any justice right now. And so, it is with deep regret that we're going to have to pull out of the show on Saturday. The festival site at www.moonblockparty.org will have information on the show. I still urge you to attend the show, as there are a lot of great bands playing there. As you can imagine, I'm hardly looking forward to having my skull cracked open and my brain operated on, but it's the only thing that's going to help me get better. And while the thought of not being able to play drums for several months while I recover from the surgery totally sucks, I'm determined to make a full recovery and get back to playing music with Rob & Pete as soon as I can. If you want to learn more about the disease I have, there are several good sites on the internet that provide information, including this one: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/chiari/detail_chiari.htm Thanks in advance for your positive thoughts and for your understanding. As some of you may know, Leah has a serious medical condition requiring brain surgery and months of recovery. Many of you have asked what you can do to help support her and help her get through this, and i think we should all put a dollar in the motorcycle helmet and pass it around. Motorcycle club members always help out fellow members and especially the President of the club, good heavens! All donations will go towards Leah's surgery and recovery. I thank you in advance for your help & support - ASK iAN ( Spiritual Tech Support at BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB )

I've been genuinely at a loss for words since hearing that the GoFundMe campaign reached the goal $33,300 for my operation. I can't begin to express my gratitude those of you who helped by donating, as well as our friend Ian of course who started this whole fundraising thing in the first place, I never thought this was possible though, i'm just overcome with emotion at your kindness and caring. It's hard for me to explain but when I was first told that I would need brain surgery, I was just scared and i didn't know if i would be able to get through all this alone, there's so many difficult things that run through your mind. But Peter and Robert and Jordan and Paula and all of you out there make me feel like i can make it and i'm not alone in it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. You are all heroes to me and I want to hug each and every one of you.
Love,
Leah
PS Also to show our appreciation to you guys, the band wants to put something very special in the stockings of each person who donated to the GoFundMe Campaign this Christmas! So definitely keep a look out. Our friend Ian saved all 442 of your email addresses, so expect something directly from us to you in December.
And no, it will not be a small piece of my brain;)

Howl is one of the best albums ever by any band.
Was lucky enough to see them at the Saint in Asbury, NJ during behind their first album. There were about 50 people in the venue. My face melted0 -
So i ordered the Live in Paris album the other week (CD/DVD + T-shirt). It came in the mail the other day. Everything looks good until I try on the shirt (I had ordered a large t-shirt) and it's fucking huge. I was thinking to myself wow this is awfully big for a large. When i took it off i noticed it's an XXL. Hopefully they can exchange it for the right size. Only way i can get a hold of them is replying to their e-mail that they sent to say the status of it.
