Any fans? I purchased the Live album/DVD combo and while I love the tracks on the CD, I'm terribly disappointed with the sound quality. Any fans out there have any other album recommendations? I was going to go with either s/t or Howl next but thought I'd ask.

  • I would go with Howl. Top to bottom, it is a great album. On another note, the movie "9 Songs" has some pretty good live outtakes of BRMC, Elbow, and Franz Ferdinand.

    Huge BRMC fan here.

first three albums are great (BRMC, Take Them On, On Your Own, and HOwl). BAby 81 is ok. Beat The Devil's Tattoo i also like a lot. I also bought the live dvd/cd london show (also got the t-shirt :) . I didn't think the sound was too bad. If you get the chance see them live, they are great live. I think i've seen them about 5 or so times.

thanks everybody. I guess the sound isnt terribly bad, the vocals are just so muffled on the harder rockin songs.

i just watched the film "the wild one" with marlon brando and realized that this band got their name from the biker gang in the movie.

yep that's where they got it from :) I was at the shore about 5 years ago or so with some friends and this movie came on and I was wondering if that is where they got their name from, and sure enough it was.

    I think I saw BRMC 6 times in 2010 so I'm definitely a fan.

Howl is wonderful in that it's a brilliant musical left turn but still tied to the base of their sound. I know that it turned some fans off but that seemed to be because it didn't follow in the direct footsteps of BRMC and TTOOYO. I think the album is flawless.

If you're a fan then you'll wind up with all of their albums. You'll want them.

thanks, I'm sure I'll eventually get there, just wondering what to buy next. I think I may just start at with S/T and go chronologically.

I think it's probably their most radio-friendly album, not their best.

For my ears their best "traditional" BRMC album (not counting "Howl" because of it being a Peter/Rob project), is B.R.M.C. with "...Devil's Tattoo" a strong ass 2nd.

In love with this band !!!!
  • Saw them the other night at Camden Electric Ballroom. Hadn't heard any of their stuff previously. I liked 'em, they're a tight live act albeit a bit lacking in stage presence

I wanted to share something very personal with you in the hopes that my experience can help others. A few weeks ago, I started experiencing some unusual symptoms, including dizziness, insomnia, headaches, tingling/numbness in my hands, stiff neck & pain. Even for a drummer, these symptoms were unusual for me so I went to the doctor to get it checked out. After having some pretty exotic tests, they have diagnosed me with something called Chiari Malformations, or CMs for short. Essentially, CM's are structural defects in part of the brain and skull which control balance and other functions, such as the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which is the liquid that surrounds and cushions the brain & spinal cord. CM has different causes. Some are caused by structural defects in the brain & spinal cord that occur during pregnancy. It can also occur later in life through a number of different causes. But however it happened, I've got it and as bad as it is, I'm grateful that they caught it now so that I can have it addressed before things get worse. The good news is that there's a surgical solution for it that is usually effective. The bad news is that when Rob, Pete & I tried to rehearse this week for the Moon Block Festival on Saturday, I realized that the effects of this illness has made it impossible for me to play drums. I just can't do the music any justice right now. And so, it is with deep regret that we're going to have to pull out of the show on Saturday. The festival site at www.moonblockparty.org will have information on the show. I still urge you to attend the show, as there are a lot of great bands playing there. As you can imagine, I'm hardly looking forward to having my skull cracked open and my brain operated on, but it's the only thing that's going to help me get better. And while the thought of not being able to play drums for several months while I recover from the surgery totally sucks, I'm determined to make a full recovery and get back to playing music with Rob & Pete as soon as I can. If you want to learn more about the disease I have, there are several good sites on the internet that provide information, including this one: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/chiari/detail_chiari.htm Thanks in advance for your positive thoughts and for your understanding. Love, Leah/BRMC xx

As some of you may know, Leah has a serious medical condition requiring brain surgery and months of recovery. Many of you have asked what you can do to help support her and help her get through this, and i think we should all put a dollar in the motorcycle helmet and pass it around. Motorcycle club members always help out fellow members and especially the President of the club, good heavens! All donations will go towards Leah's surgery and recovery. I thank you in advance for your help & support - ASK iAN ( Spiritual Tech Support at BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB )
BLESS YER HEARTS and THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MINE
