Guys go to Chelio's bar. He already has a 20x20 banner. And I'm sure he will probably be there at some point. You can take the people mover from JLA to grand circus park. And then it's about a 1/2 mile walk to Cheli's. I work in Detroit everyday. Downtown is a big difference from the outer areas.Former member of “Thomas 9” 10-2-2018 #neverforget0

ugh. Now I need a ticket0

I agree that Cheli's would be a fun and appropriate place to go after the show! Also maybe something in Greektown would work (Old Shillelagh?) since it seems like a lot of people are parking there for the show!<img src="http://oi53.tinypic.com/biwl52.jpg">0

Quick dos and donts
Don't get in cab downtown without asking how much first. 90% don't run the meter
Don't park at meters. Tickets used to be $10. They are now $45
Don't leave your purse in your trunk. A lot of people know that Ford field and JLA has t e no bag policy and people are popping trunks. Leave under seat or don't bring at all
Don't get arrested if you do call A-1 Bail Bonds. Ten club discount!
Do
Checkout Lafayette coney. Close to JLA and great coneys.
Also Bucharest grill. Closer to comerica park. Inside park bar get the Shwarma!
If going to a casino. Go to greektown. The people mover is inside the casino and it goes direct to JLA
Anyone other questions LMK

Hudson Cafe is a good choice for breakfast/brunch for sure. If one is in the mood for a greasy spoon diner type, Ham Shop in Greektown is my go-to joint. Working downtown, I hit it up about once a week for the old "breakfast for lunch."Kidcloudkicker said:
Thank you! Red velvet pancakes sound awesome. We will definitely check Hudson Cafe out.samjam said:
For breakfast/brunch, The Hudson Cafe is amazing...graham cracker crusted french toast and red velvet pancakes amongst many other choices!Kidcloudkicker said:Anyone have any suggestions for things to do Friday after the show? Maybe a good breakfast spot or lunch? Any sites we should see? Should we venture over to Windsor?
My favorite spot in Detroit is Green Dot Stables, a good spot for lunch or dinner...$3 sliders, $3 drinks.
Roast is a really fancy restaurant in the Westin but to avoid the priciness, do happy hour there--great food and drinks for a tiny fraction of the cost of a meal!
I wouldn't pass up the Motown Museum either, assuming you like music. If you like art, the DIA is a beautiful museum. Have fun! I'd explore Detroit rather than Windsor
Tons of dining options in Detroit. Green Dot is a good suggestion, though I am smiling as I type this because we beat them in soccer last night to leapfrog them in the standings bwah ha ha. Jacoby's is a great bar with great German food/beer. If one is looking to eat downtown on their way to the show, I would suggest Sweetwater Tavern, Detroiter Bar, Pizza Papalis, Red Smoke BBQ to name a few. These are all good options that I regularly eat at and is also right at either the Greektown or Bricktown People Mover station that will take you straight to the Joe.0 -
Good suggestions too! I'm craving Red Smoke now hahaakumaizer said:

Skip Slow's and go across the street to Mercury Burger Bar... Slow's (IMO) has been on a steady decline over the past year or so. Hell, if you're planning on going over to Corktown to eat anyway, go to Green Dot Stables like many of us have already mentioned.nosajh9 said:i plan to hit sweetwater and slows bbq while im up there
It's on the corner of 14th and Lafayette.
