Nice. Like no one saw that coming. Crazy that they sold both weekends stuff the first weekend.

Print some more for the website.
  • Also, download the retailmenot app, show the app at the festival merch stand inside the fest when you buy an ACL shirt and you'll get a free lineup poster (with better artwork than the $30 lineup poster in my opinion).

Raining pretty good here in Austin this
morning. Tomorrow will most likely be a pretty soggy adventure, so everyone be careful. That Dillo Dirt they use in Zilker doesn't absorb much at all :(

Also, don't take any Molly or ecstasy- you may take a bad batch:

  • The park was pretty muddy yesterday. Not too bad up by the stage where PJ will be playing, but walking around the park was pretty bad. Hopefully it dried up a bit over night. Also, this is the lineup poster that I mentioned before. You get it free at the ACL merch stand inside the fest when you show the retailmenot app and buy an ACL shirt. image

Wear old shoes. Was ridiculous in the middle of the park. Especially near the retail stage.

We're staying at a hotel where the staff was nice enough to give me and the fiancee a role of duct tape and a bunch of plastic trash bags to wrap around and inside our feet / legs / shoes if the mud gets to be unbearable. It was unbearable last night. We went to catch the Eminem show and could only stay approx 30 minutes that's how much of a shit-show it was. I almost fell on my ass at least 10x. And idiots were running around trying to catch both Em and Skrillex splashing up mud everywhere.

I have a feeling the closer to the stage, the less mud there'll be, though. Planning on inching up to the front right before Gaslight comes on. But even if you're super far back from the stage, ACL has huge speaker stacks that sound amazing - even hundreds of yards away from the stage.

This is true, the sound at acl is great. For most bands it actually sounds better a bit farther back.
And true SVRD, no show for me tonight! But I will be watching the Giants game in comfort!
