St. Louis merch line & inside security

Anyone that was in that line already knows how brutal is was. Got in line at 1:15, finally got my poster and 2 stickers at around 4:30.
A few times they ran out of posters and started forming another line while more posters were being sent to the truck. Four very slow moving St. Louis Blue employees that were clearly overwhelmed. Slow to make change, crossing over each other to get items, adding amounts with paper and pencil. Needless to say, when the line moved past the part of the building where you could watch what was going on, it was even more painful than the driving rain and cold temps. We also saw a fair amount of people that seemed to have a hard time deciding what they wanted, trying on different sizes of the same hoodie. (if the large is too small, don't ya think that the xl probably fits?)
Anyhow... a suggestion.
Why not let 10club members have the option to buy what merch they want online the day of the show. Give the option of the stickers of the city, the poster and the t-shirt.
Give 10club members that win lottery tickets the option of a preorder for these items, when the ticket drawing is announced.
As far as security inside... Heard a few people on here that got booted for the green.
My buddy and I fell into that category as well -- not for burning it, but for holding an unlit joint. Surrounded by 4 security guards, they asked for it, I gave it to them, they wanted to search me for more, which I didn't have. It was when lights were up and Baba was about done, so I wasn't too upset, but way we were grabbed and escorted out the building was a bit excessive. My buddy had 2 people holding onto him and my guy just kept shoving me forward.
I get it, it's not legal, but relax.
Upside: Kick ass show. First encore was magic. These guys don't ever disappoint.

The merch stand understaffed and not organized? This is typical for PJ shows these days. I wish the band would do something about it.

I always love that 'indecisive fan'.

Fuck... ya sit in line for 2 hours staring at the dwindling piles and ya get to the front of the line... and ya proceed to hum and haw like an idiot. "Maybe I sould get a #17? Yah yah. Let me see a #17. No. No. Let me see a #22. Yah yah. A #22. Hmmm. This XL seems a bit small. Let me see a XXL. Noooo. The XL was better. Yah. I`ll take an XL #17. Do you take debit? Let me find my card in my purse."

Rummage rummage. Drop shit. Pick up. Drop more shit. Find card. Forget password. Remember password. Take 4 minutes folding the hoody.

It's usually that person directly in front of me. My patience is already paper thin at best... and the visions I entertain at such a moment are best kept to myself. I'm basically Steve Martin at the rental car agency in Planes, Trains, Automobiles.

People are just merch obsessed. 3 hours in line for tshirts and posters? Insanity. Flipping online for hundreds...and people pay it? Insanity. The stands inside the venue are always flush with merch because the obsessed crowd can't wait....so they wait outside lol. Insanity.

It's a real shame they were hawking after the green so heavily. Insanity lol. Maybe because it cuts into beer sales...it's just lame and very uncool, but that's why I don't risk it anymore...too many Nazis too happy to "do their job"

I partied every moment in Cincinnati. I chose to stand in the merch line in STL mostly because I was already committed - they opened late and I was already soaked - I had no idea I would have stood in line for 2 t-shirts for 4 hours!! I can't say I wouldn't do it again - but I have to love a design - didn't buy one item last fall. But I got the shirt I wanted this year and I have 2 more shows I won't have to stand in line. Too bad buttons sold out so fast!

It was illegal in Cincy and it was "their job" there too, but they didn't harass a bunch of people unnecessarily and throw folks out. Guess what? Nothing terrible happened...they didn't all lose their jobs...the world moved on with more kindness and tolerance...

It does seem like certain collectible items like posters, stickers, pins, event T-shirts, etc. could be sold online in a pre-sale or something. That way 10C knows exactly how many to print/order. At least let us give the bank the $$ instead of someone on ebay.

Then change the law. Calling security nazis is a little over the top. I'm not saying anyone is harmed by smoking pot at a show. Just don't take it on security when you knowingly are breaking the rules.

I would never wait in line outside for just shirts. I've never seen the shirts sellout outside, and i've seen plenty in Cincy and St. Louis at merch stands inside the venue well after doors opened. Same with posters.

The outside booth is convenient to take stuff to the hotel and not have at the show, but unless you want stickers getting to the venue when doors open should be sufficient for everything else (in my opinion).

Last time they played Scott trade center they sold the posters like score cards at ball games. Walked in and had someone selling them right off the bat. Was hoping that would be the case this year but it wasn't. Posters had sold out before the show started.
Didn't they used to have an option to have the poster mailed to your address if you ordered fan club tickets? That may have been a hassle on staff, but would work well for members of the club.

There were several posters being sold inside. I got in and went directly to a merch booth and they had a stack of posters...no stickers though.

Just for shirts? Lol. Sorry that's all I wanted. I had no plans to drink in STL cuz of the 9 hour drive home. First merch line I've ever stood in - wasn't a great experience due to weather and SLOW SLOW SLOW customers but had fun chatting in line.

This was the first time at a show that I never even looked at a merchandise stand. We were so late getting into town and wanted to spend at least some time at the preparty. I refuse to wait in those lines anyway so it was all for the best.

Here is hoping Moline merch line will be better. The smaller venue should lead to a smaller line????? I hope...the other option should be re-entry so people don't have to carry items around and risk damage.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the way the venue personnel royally screwed up the GA line by placing us in the "Holding Pens" like ANIMALS!!
And then had the nerve to talk to us like we were children & told to enter the GA area like little ducks in a row AND then when we finally made it out on the floor, they MADE everyone sit cross legged on the ground!!
We're PEOPLE folks...not your herd of CATTLE!!!

The inside security was not bad, but I had reserved. Merchandise lines were not organized at all, the stands I went to ran out of show specific t-shirts, posters, and stickers.

instead of putting us in a maze-line like an amusement park ride...
similar to what they did in Cincinnati,
they had three different "holding" areas.
The people at the beginning of the line were put in the middle area,
people in the middle of the line were sent to the right...
& the folks at the back of the line were in the left holding area!!
When they started letting us out onto the floor,
they just dropped the ropes & it was a free-for-all!!
This allowed people who were at the back of the GA line,
but were able to make it to the front of their respective holding sections,
to get ahead of those who were at the beginning of the line,
but farther back in their holding area.
It really wasn't fair to the people that put in the time waiting in line all day!

FWIW - the 2 merch tents inside the arena that I saw after entering were sold out of the St. Louis event shirts. They only had the generic tour shirts and such. Maybe some stands I didn't visit had them though? I did see the poster there though...so that was to be had for anyone that showed up on time.

Frankly, I thought that Cincinnati was staffed just fine and went along at the speed that I would think given the merch and number of people. They seemed to have a flow and weren't tripping over each other. I'm sorry that St. Louis was so bad.

Another thing I understand people buying an extra poster for a friend or another board member, but they were letting people buy 4-5 posters, that's ridiculous! Someone on here said they saw a guy buy 10 posters!!! What the hell? Other than flipping them why do you need 10 posters, hell more than 1 for that matter!

Especially when they are as BAD as the St. Louis poster was...
makes no sense to me at all!!
You'll be able to buy this one in the shop for $20 bucks,
if you have the patience to wait a year or 2 to own it!!
