    BB,You know I don't take shit personally.And have we really ever disagreed on the big picture.Its the grey area and subtleties that is difference.And since we all "get it" then I would say I have never changed,Ive always been fairly inappropriate and a smart ass(Purple Bunny,I won't go there).Its just now you dudes think Ive changed because maybe you are also listening as much as discussing. it's Fucking Evolution Baby!!!!

    Plus Football is in the air and I have to save my snarkyness for anyone who is playing my beloved Buccaneers.Got a little Soundgarden this week as well.So all is good.

    All colonial settler states are based on the violent dispossession of the native peoples – and as a result, their fundamental and overriding aim has always been to keep those native peoples as weak as possible. Israel’s aim for the Palestinians is no different.

    Palestinian statehood is clearly an obstacle to this goal; a Palestinian state would strengthen the Palestinians. Genuine sovereignty would end Israel’s current presumed right to steal their land, control their borders, place them under siege, and bomb them at will. That is why Netanyahu’s Likud party platform “flatly rejects the establishment of a Palestinian Arab state west of the Jordan river.”; that is why Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated for even suggesting some limited self-governance for the Palestinians; and that is why every proposal for Palestinian statehood, however limited and conditional, has been wilfully sabotaged by successive Israeli governments of all hues.

    If Rabin did suggest that, clearly not every Israeli government has been against Palestinian self-governance.

    There was huge grief in Istael when Rabin was killed, and he was starting down a path of peace.

    Yigal Amir, the guy who shot Rabin, certainly didn't represent the collective will of Israel at the time. He was an ultra-orthodox fanatic.

    The grief in Israel for Rabin was enormous, in part because he was turning towards peace.

    See, JC29856's kind of thought process on Israel really pisses me off. "Israel is a settler colonialist state so I know everything about the people who live there and what they want - and all they want is to oppress." This is just bullshit, and I have to believe even those post stuff that's this extreme know they're making huge generalizations.

    Is a "land grab" by Israel. Do I blame them, no, this is what humans have always done and will continue to do. Plus it feeds the machine.
