this is bullshit im sick of minority kids getting killed by cops who think they are the supreme law with no regards to human rights & to treat the press like criminals this is bullshit and it has to stop now .....

Are people protesting because the young man killed was unarmed, or unarmed and black?

As to releasing the officer's name, until the investigation is completed, what's the purpose? So his family has to fear for their lives due to something they had nothing to do with? Will the same thing happen as when Zimmerman's supposed address was incorrectly broadcast, and some innocents were being threatened?

As to the arrests of the members of the press, if it went down as I've read, seriously fucked up.

I figured those two would be making an appearance per their usual MO, just surprised it didn't happen sooner.

It just seems like Frick and Frack do this posturing more for themselves than their causes.

I imagine there are others who could and have become involved, with genuine intent.

Anyway, sorry to derail.

That reminds me of one of the photos from the 1992 LA riots, of two Korean business owners armed from the roof of their building.

I wish other means of protest would/could be implemented, rather than destroying your city and its people along with it.

Sharpton and Jackson are the faces of the black community. I didn't see Jackson speak but Sharpton was very clear that violence was not the answer.

Who says they're the faces? Because they (seem to, at least to me) capitalize on the too-many instances like this? Why aren't those in the black community the faces - and voices - of it, since they actually are?

And of course, most rational people don't condone the shit that's been going down. It doesn't take Sharpton to shine a light on that concept.

Jackson was an assistant to MLK and has been part of the civil rights movement since it began. Sharpton was involved almost as long as Jackson.

I meant that they're not the faces of the black community. There are many many others, especially in the specific community in which this happened.

Actually, these days, news travels pretty damned fast. But, I'm not the Rev's mother - no use for "should" when it comes to him. I'm someone putting my opinions out there.

And FYI, questioning someone's motives isn't equal to hating them. It'd be nice for that word to be re-thought before used so willy-nilly (much like "bully"). Thinking someone's disingenuous is not hate.

None of this occurs if the two kids just get out of the middle of the road like the cop told them to. I'm not absolving the cop. He's a murderer. Shooting the kid when the kid grabbed at him? Alright fine. But when the kid has been shot twice and has his arms up in a surrender stance, you can't keep shooting him. That's insane. But still, get out of the road (what morons walk in the middle of the road when there's sidewalks anyway?) and none of this even happens.
