Yes it is a really cool print. I ordered the frame online custom made due to size of poster. Really happy about how it turned out

Thank you. Collaborated w/ my framer (Mary @ Frame Nation in Richmond, VA) on this! It's now hanging in my office at work and eliciting lots of comments.

If you like the job of the posters below, I got them done at a place called Art & Company in Orland Park. I think they have a little shop in the city too. Not only do i think they do an amazing job, they also have unbelievable service, read em up on yelp. The owner said they do all of the framing for Chicago pro sports teams, like signed jerseys for charity benefits.

The owner asked me if I wanted them done really cool or cheap. $100 for cheap, $200 for cool. I said how about 1 cool and 1 cheap? He said how about we do them both really cool but I will price it as 1 cool and 1 cheap. So the below posters were $300 total. I don't know much about framing but I think it was a great deal. Plus they were ready 2-3 days later. He recommended Italian frames and said they are top of the line, so I went with those.

I don't know if he will make the same deal to anyone, I might have caught him on a really good day.

I went to my framer (Catch in Utrecht) with last year's San Diego print. With this thread in my I had all kinds of wild ideas, with double mattes and such. But in the end my framer convinced me not to use elaborate mattes and such as it would distract from the print itself. It is a great image after all. I only feared it would be too dark (too blue) so that's why I initially thought of using a yellow matte or so.

Today, I picked up the framed print. And I have to say he was right. That print doesn't need any extras, just a nice frame. :)

    image
To have the text at the back visible he also used glass. That came out nice too.

Is it better to have a poster put into a cheap frame for long term storage or is it better to keep it in the tube? For some reason the poster for my first international show is extremely cheap so I decided to buy it because sentiment. But I have nowhere to put it.

I would get it out of the tube as soon as possible.
If you can't afford to have it framed, try to store your posters in a flat file or portfolio.
You can also store your posters in something like a folding foam core display board like you would use for a science project:
    photo foamcore_zps08a94eaa.jpg
The large ones are perfect...I store my oversized posters in one of these and slide it under the bed!
I'd tell you that ANYTHING is better than storing your artwork in the tube.
    Hope this helps.
