Just listened to this show. Still the loudest American show ive experienced. Greatest hits setlist but played with 100% effort and passion.

Yes. Saw a bunch of shows that tour and the philly set list was the weakest. Still a fun time though.

See I dont think a greatest hits set makes for a weak setlist. A weak setlist can be rare songs played sloppily with no flow to the show. If Jeremy and Alive are played like its 1991 like they did at the Spectrum you're in for an amazing show.

Its all subjective until someone gets me a dB chart :-B

Good point. Have to say feeling the floor at MSG bounce up and down is pretty incredible. And of shows I've attended was the loudest with most song participation. Seemed every word of every song was sung back.

I wasn't there so I can't say but what about the msg show where Ed thought the stage was gonna collapse from all the craziness of the crowd. And didn't he mention that it only happened 3 other times? U guys got me wishing I was at this show. Shit I went to Camden, would've loved to seen this show.

if i remember correctly the other 3 bands were Springsteen, Iron Maiden, and the Grateful Dead

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time. But musically it was my least favorite of the 03 shows I saw.

4/28/03 - Loudest of 25 PJ shows I've been to. Not even close, actually. And I was at 10/31/09 at the Spectrum. '03 was better.

For me, I don't think the set list mattered that much. Whether or not it was a "greatest hits" set list, you couldn't beat the crowd energy and band performance.

And to dispute the greatest hits claim a bit, they opened with Crazy Mary. Is that a hit? Probably. But up until this show I don't know if they had ever opened with it (maybe once before). They played 5 Riot Act songs, and while they were on tour to support that album, I don't think any one of those songs is a "greatest hit." Also 3 Binaural songs including Soon Forget. Only 4 songs from Ten, so not ridiculous there.

Anyway, great show, great set, INCREDIBLE crowd. I have never had an equal experience since.

What i remember..... great weather in the 10c line. Sunny but not too hot. A great set from Sparta. The crowd already loud before the lights went out.......then Crazy Mary and a few hours of nonstop screaming. Still the loudest North American crowd ive ever experienced.

Opening with Crazy Mary?! Jesus, has that been done anytime previous?

    7/9/03, MSG
Ah, thanks! This was the tour they broke it out quite a bit.
There were all kinds of crazy openers on the 03 tour. The sets were just as crazy. I've never been as shocked since, watching the sets roll in. The recent "Evening with" shows had the potential for a lot of surprises, but they settled into a routine pretty quickly and most sets unfolded in a similar way. You just had no idea what was coming on those 03 shows.

I just can't believe how loud the crowd was. Hands down best philly show ever. Spectrum night three comes close but the 03 set was sick.

All this Philly talk had me break out the bootleg again. Opening with Crazy Mary blew my mind at the time.

Go listen to Lisbon shows , even Eddie acknowledges that in 2010. Its no wonder he comes back solo...
