Mystery posters in store now

True, my mystery boxes I got were below average, but I scored the 96 Portugal back in '06 (I believe). Got my mystery poster yesterday, but I'm donating it as part of the raffle I'm doing on herebootlegger10 said:This isn't the first mystery sale, but probably at least the 4th or 5th over the years. They didn't exactly ship them out that fast...jeffer96 said:
Grab a tube, grab a label, and ship it out the door.pdalowsky said:What would they gain by fixing it to piss people off?
When they said that the tubes were all packed and sealed to maintain the randomness one has to be believe that. perhaps the tubes were packed in batches so all the IIC posters were on a shelf next to each other and orders were taken off shelves in the orders they came in? or by city?0 -
I agree it's been crazy! Been a lot of fun to follow this thread, even over the last couple days with the plot thickening. HahaBRAIN0FJAY said:It's "funny" how this went from thrilling not knowing...to seeing the first mystery poster pulls with some pretty decent stuff and a few bummers...to last weekend and all the Cracker Jacks and Dirty Franks being pulled that lead to some intense anticipation...to the recent IIC dumps and conspiracy theories of multi-member sales to the same households.
Lots of ups and downs. I now regret being half-bummed Sunday after getting the 2005 Calgary poster (bummed because I had gone out of town on Friday right before I got an e-mail notifying me that UPS had delivered...all weekend to anticipate and watch the fantastic pulls...to come home and get the Calgary...a downer at the time, but now I am fuckin' ecstatic that I got that one) - and I'm going to go frame the son of a bitch soon. I was wrong to be bummed out (though I am blaming that mostly on a long "Guys Getaway Weekend")...I was wrong...I admit it...and I apologize to the 10C and Santos for my short-lived frustration...it is all good!
Good luck to the rest of you out there that have not rec'd your poster yet...
Glad to hear you're now pumped about your poster, that's the best case scenario in the mystery tube lottery.

I don't think they have enough time on their hands to target locations with two accounts to try and get back at flippers or people double dipping.
A lot of the crackerjacks all showed up at the same time, I think I remember seeing a lot of Chicago posters at the same time etc... So more likely than not it's more a function of the orders being placed at the same time rather than them being at the same house or mailing address.
Now if anyone from the same location placed their order hours or days (not sure when it sold out) apart and got the same poster that would be strange, but I tend to try and believe what is most likely. And it is just not that likely to me that there is enough time for anyone working at 10C to target specific accounts how many active accounts are there 300K 500K?
I still understand the frustration though, just don't think it's a malicious thing at all."Born on third, thinks he got a triple."0 -
That is the most logical explanation. The randomness of not knowing who was getting what was sure there, but unfortunately they didn't shuffle the pre-packed tubes prior to labeling. So as they sort their orders by city or area, everyone in an area get the same thing. Makes sense.given2fly23 said:

I'm curious now to see if us Canadians get the same posters..0 -

I don't know... I think everyone should re-post what poster they got along with the order number, order time, and what zip code it was shipped to, so we can really figure this out.

I think there's some truth to the thought that posters seem to be grouped geographically. Likely they had a list of all orders arranged by zip code and went stack by stack through the posters. Just one data point, but I did notice that all of the 06 Boston IIs (that were posted) ended up in NY or PA.1995 - NOLA

Don't quote me on this, but it's possible all the UPS ground/UPS mail innovation shipping labels were sorted by zip code/postal code before being generated thereby making the process a little more streamlined once these poster tubes arrived at the sorting warehouse. To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

Added order number. If you already submitted, you can just do the form again and I'll dedupe the data.MI76260 said:
