I've had a few friends come up to me lately and mention the following,
however, having been drawn down some rabbit holes before, I was quite skeptical but ...
came across a facebook post this morning with supposed evidence,
then went searching for my own "proof"

I'm glad the beneficial effects of this weed are being seriously considered.

A fellow smoker/co-worker told me about this finding a few months ago, but I hadn't seen anything about it until recently.

some say that there is a cure for cancer.......but then again cancer is a $1.6 billion a year business, what would happen to all the cancer research centers that collect millions of dollars a year from the public and in grants and not to mention the thousands of jobs that have been created to feed this machine,reminds me of the man made global warming issue/debate/hoax what ever you want to call it both these subjects generate $billions every year for groups-research centers-politicans etc. come to think of it this could be exactly why pot/drugs will never be legalized, just think of the funding and jobs related to it...the monies distributed thru-out the country and billions sized in anual bust's must be staggering and at the end of the day we are left debating the issues of these subjects and not maybe knowing the true motive for their existance......BIG MONEY ! anywhere in the world you go your being is simply related to money......sickening isn't it ? and your good health is a $ sign to the system.

NOTHING cures cancer! That is not really possible. A cure eliminates a malady by eliminating the pathogen creating sickness. Cancers (i hope you all know there are many types and many causes) are caused by mutations within ones genes that result in "bad" cells which usually do not function but do reproduce. To cure cancer would require fixing the genetic mutation which is still impossible for the near future. Cannabinoids definitely fight cancer, alongside many naturally occuring molecules. They may even excel at fighting cancers but cannabinoids will not cure cancer in general, nor will they cure cancer in an individual. There is some weighty evidence that a raw plant diet is capable of preventing much of the genetic mutation responsible for cancer so I would think the addition of cannabis use would further decrease your risk. We all need to live more like Native Americans. It would solve every problem mankind has created in the last few thousand years.

When taking into consideration the many mutagenic elements in the food we eat (gmo's, caffeine, and most of the shit in processed food), there will never be a cure for cancer...ever. It's impossible to cure a disease that can be caused by the very genotoxins we ingest.

i see what you are trying to insinuate, but you can not abstract 3 words from their context.
The context is
"Cannabinoids may cause antitumor effects by various mechanisms"

The article is VERY clear that cannabinoids DO CAUSE antitumor effects.
All the sentence you are hinging on is claiming is that these KNOWN effects are caused by what MAY be VARIOUS different mechanisms. I think partially, it is an admission that the actions of the cannabinoids are not yet fully understood, and that the totality of mechanisms involved are possibly not all known.

It isn't saying that it MAY fight cancer.

As someone who is currently fighting cancer I am so sick and tired of seeing these types of bullshit articles. Lemons cure cancer, weed cures cancer, vitamin D cures cancer. Until there are extensive clinical trials by multiple traditional sources, these articles only serve to create false hope and misdirected angst toward "big pharma".

I'm with you on these types of studies - agree many are bullshit or money/agenda-driven, but I and many I know can attest to the benefits of weed. Perhaps not outright curing, but certainly alleviating, in so many ways.

Oh I fully agree with the alleviating benefits and I will never question that aspect after having used some to gain an appetite and eliminate pain. It was great. I just get so sick of these articles that claim anything is a cure and that something is being "hidden" or " suppressed" by the man.
