This was my 7th show of this Euro tour and probably the best show I've ever seen since the dawn of time. This even beat TP&HBs at IOW in '12. Unbelievable stuff and more than worth hellish 4.5 hour journey EACH WAY from Gloucester through horrendous roadworks and road closures and then just two hours sleep before having to go to work. I never thought I'd travel five thousand miles around Europe on my motorcycle seeing Amsterdam, Milan, Trieste, Berlin, Oslo, Stockholm and then see the best show ever in Leeds!
MK on Friday. I have no idea how this is going to measure up but we'll enjoy it and we'll still be buzzing from last night. I've cried a few times today because last night was so emotional and to see this band that we loved since Ten enjoying themselves so much in front of such a wonderful audience of music lovers is a really moving experience.
It takes a lot for me to come here and post, hopefully it won't be too long til I do it again :-) x0 -
Am loving all the posts of the memories from last nights gig. I agree wholeheartedly with them all. Thought nothing could ever beat Astoria '06 but this just might have surpassed it. I don't post comments often either but have to give a thumbs up to the person who said they were old enough to be taking their wristband off after a gig is done....well I should know better too but mine is staying firmly in place until after Fridays gigNicola (England)0

From where I was sat Eddie was gesturing to the rest of the band to wrap the song up early. I don't think his voice would have made it for the last verse and chorus.CharlieP said:
No, Eddie definitely forgot the last verse of Indifference and the others just looked at each other like, what is going on here? Then they just sort of ended the song, it was hilarious!YoxallManchester said:I think Indifference was cut short. There was no "fills this room!!!". Unless I missed it? But I was stood like right there. Am I going mad?

Was at Charlottesville, and loved it, but Leeds is in rare air with the great PJ shows of all time. Was at Leeds too and it was just magic from start to finish.mcrok said:man, what a venue....I remember showing pics of it to my wife and saying if we are going to see them in Europe this is the place...to bad the timing didn't work out...can't wait for the boot....to me, it seems like the Cville of the euro tour:)

18th PJ gig and 12 songs I'd never see before (only one of which was from the new album). It's like they crawled inside my head and just knew exactly hat to play. I don't think there's another band around that could achieve that stat!!
Leeds sent me around the bend 8-} , MK is going to be a bonus - play what the hell you like, it's going to be great no matter what! =D>http://www.wishlistfoundation.org

I got a shockingly poor quality video of Fatal from my prime spot at the back of the seats. Was minded not to bother uploading but see no others have materialised yet, on YouTube at least. Anyone want me to do it? Sound quality is lovely, picture is extremely poor.28/10/1996 - Wembley Arena, London

Would have liked more from Avocado (I know there are mixed feelings on this album; it is another of my favourites though) and was desperate for Crown of Thorns and Thin Air, both have special meaning!
No mixed feelings here....Avocado easily my fav since Yield..... really like some of the others as well... but Avocado simply gets the edge... peace, curly

Moon and stars....yes....yes you should!
Can't agree more with the reviews, best gig I've ever seen, and I've seen a few.
The atmosphere was electric, band was having the time of their lives and a night you never want to end.
I saw PJ at Wembey 07 (great fan setlist) Manchester 09 (ok for a PJ gig) and London 09 in the O2 (amazing)..this blew London away and I never thought anything would.
After the euphoria of that night, I've been feeling quite flat since then! The drive back to Glasgow via Hull to pick up wife and kids was a tiring one!
I have just been reliving the gig through You Tube when the kids will allow it.
Looking forward to next European tour!
Another reason to feel flat is that I never got a ticket on the way out. We had to hand them in to a steward on the way in. I was not thinking straight on the way out, maybe I had a beer too many as well!
I phoned the arena but no luck. Has anyone got a spare ticket they are willing to part with? I can send you a self addressed envelope.
Cheers, DJ0 -
Agree with djlewis, London 09 was my favourite show of all time but Leeds has topped that, any show from any band I've seen, and I've been very lucky to see some great Metallica, Iron Maiden, Springsteen gigs, real performers.
RVM was incredible, they way they just kept increasing the intensity was exhilarating, kept waiting for the drop and it just kept going up and up. Present Tense was transcendent, God I love that instrumental outro, it really feels like you've accepted yourself, flaws and all, and are taking that journey to a more peaceful place with everyone around you.
Black was heart-breaking, the crowd singing the last verse and then Eddie singing it again, Mike's solo, Stone slowly bringing it to an end. Mike's soloing was so powerful on All or None, all night really. I've never seen a better, more intense version of Porch, I was looking at Stone when the crowd surged all around me and reached up, I turned to look up and saw Eddie standing right there, singing above us, holding the hand of the lady in front. Got to touch his hand, felt like a small thank you for what they've given us.
Jeremy, the crowd bouncing, Alive was so much fun, Fatal, Fernando, Matt's son, Army Reserve, Of The Girl, Who You Are, and more...what a great night, great crowd, great band performance, great energy and so, so much fun. It was my friend's first show, she knew she would have a great time, but that just blew her away completely, she's seen a lot of shows and Leeds is now her all time favourite.
Bring on the boot, and please, please make this show a bluray release.
Gotta say, love the venue too, amazing sound, great sight-lines and the security guys were first class, keeping us informed of how we were going to get merch, wristbands all day, making sure people didn't jump the line and having fun with us.
I feel privileged to have been there and experienced this show, until the next time Peal Jam...what a fucking band.0 -
Amazing show, only my second PJ show, and the first in the pit. Best show I have ever seen, and I have seen everybody who is anybody.
I got a bit wet queuing, but it all worked out in the end. The venue didn't do a great job organising the lines as the ticket office isn't designed to have hundreds of people queuing at it, but the staff on the ground got it sorted eventually and were pleasant and courteous, making sure nobody jumped the queue. The main point is, I only had to queue for 2 hours and I got to be 2 people from the front, so the ten club early entry worked very very well for me.
There were two absolute dickheads in the pit who barged their way to the front and proceeded to act with absolutely no regard for anybody else, elbowing people in the face etc, I don't know if anybody noticed, couple of Scottish guys, chunky looking meatheads with awful chav aftershave, they did their best to wreck it for others, but nobody could have wrecked that gig, it was simply superb.0
