My friends and family always make fun of my because I take photo's with musician's that I love. I started doing this in my late 20's early 30's because I realized I met many bands/artists and have no "evidence" that i met them! "Maybe" a signature. How about we start a thread and post some photos with who we call..."celebrities?"

I was lucky enough to get "Scott Lucas and The Married Men" to play my wedding last year. Yes, Scott Lucas from Local H. I have seen The H, I think, 12 times? The Married Men freaking rocked, played a few tracks, and after my 80 year old Grandparents started dancing to Bowie's, "Absolute Beginners" the band went nuts, started taking requests, played Village People, Springsteen, even an attempt at Taylor Swift. Wish I would have written down all they did, but I was too busy ignoring friends and family while trying to watch the band. Scott is known for being standoffish (once he signed a CD for me and just wrote, "Meow" but he and the band were incredible that night and so gracious to my families random requests. Story over.

Wow! That is awesome. Scott's a weird dude....I've seen him flip out at a couple of Local H shows. Glad to hear he was in good spirits at your wedding!!

I don't have it handy so can't post it right now, but one of my very few photos of me with a celebrity is me with Ani DiFranco. At first I got the very clear vibe that she did NOT want anyone to ask to take pics with her at all, which I can understand. But we had such a great (though brief) conversation, when another woman asked if she could take a picture of us, Ani said yes. But the woman who offered to take the pic (who I didn't know but figured out quickly was also a fan) was so flustered and awestruck, she fumbled the camera and zoomed way in, so the one and only pic I have of me and Ani DiFranco is mostly of our nostrils and also (it was winter) I'm wearing this fake leopard fur hat, and our heads are so pressed together that it looks like Ani's hair is dyed leopard-print... it's a really funny photo, all noses, teeth and leopard-print hair!

What year was this? I used to love her music. Anything before Plastic Castles.

    Share the pic!

I don't think that's weird at all. There are very few people I love enough that I would even want to have a pic with them, but I don't have the guts to ask for pictures. I wouldn't want my picture taken and I tend to clam up, so I've met several people but don't have photos, so my mind was blown when I met Nick Cave and have all kinds of evidence, lol. I've already talked about it to probably annoying lengths here, lol:

I have met Tracy Morgan, he really is as weird as you would think.
Chris Chelios seems nice.I thanked him for bringing the Stanley Cup to Detroit.
Calvin Johnson is cool. Matthew Stafford needs a haircut.
Glen Hansard is a real nice guy.
Bob Seger is a legend, my buddies dad was his pilot back in the day.

Don't have any pictures, but really how weird is that?

I was going to post the picture I have of me and John Densmore when I met him at a book signing in Sacramento but, well, let's just say it's not a flattering photograph of either one of us. :-)) Really cool guy though- glad I had the opportunity to meet him.

I remember when you posted this. It is very cool to see the pics again!

I've geeked out and had my picture taken with a few celebrities: Elvis Costello, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, Marc Maron, and a few others. The most interesting one (for me) was having my picture taken with celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz, by her (she held my camera arms-length away from us and shot the picture).

That's amazing about Annie Leibovitz! I bet she gets asked to do that all the time, lol. You've met some cool people; I was lucky enough to meet Rollins too:)

    And Brian, post the pic!!

I had the wonderful chance to spend a night out with one of my fave directors in my hometown a couple of years ago. He was shooting Inglorious basterds in Berlin and a friend of mine was working for him. She invited him to my hometown for a weekend to see a band some of whose members are some of my oldest friends. Well, he came, without money or a phone, and spent a fun weekend in my hometown. Almost everybody I know has talked to him back then haha He is a very cool guy and he likes German beer and vodka. The whole night, he was very friendly towards everybody who approached him, and he was talking with a British accent for whatever reason. It was a very surreal experience to be so close to someone so famous. I talked to him about German soft porn movies from the 70s, and Kill Bill (one of my faves) and had the most amazing time :)

I was very nervous at first too. We have a concert + movie night in the summer at my hometown. My friend said "come here now!" And I didn't know why. So I went. Then I met another friend at the concert, and he said "Tarantino was just in the audience." And I knew that I would go backstage soon. I was very giggly, but it all went pretty cool. Like I said, the whole thing is still surreal to me.

I can see how that would definitely be a very intense, very cool, and rather surreal experience, Leezestarr! Excellent!

Me and Gilby Clarke (Guns n Roses, Rockstar Supernova) back in 2008. He had just played a gig in my hometown and this was at the after party. He was only contracted to spend 45 minutes with us but he ended up almost staying 2 hours. He told me that he liked my t-shirt and said that he had just spoken to Duff and Slash as well as Axl and he told me that Axl said that Chinese Democracy was going to be released before the end of 2008 and sure enough, it came out in the fall.
