Still a chance for Toronto?

The Pearl Jam May Newsletter only mentioned US dates coming up do we still have a chance for a Toronto show? Any Thoughts?

I think yes, especially if plans are not final yet.

I really really hope so as that's where I live now! I caught them in Buffalo last year. When I got the newsletter and read that more Fall tour dates will be announced I immediately thought "please include TO!!!!"...having said that I'd probably drive to Ohio, etc. Just hope the out of town dates are on a Friday or weekend!

I'm sure there will be. Since I live in Toronto, I really hope they will come this time. Matt Cameron is temporarily not with Soundgarden so I can't see why they won't have time for Toronto. I remember in February last year, when Trent Reznor reactivated Nine Inch Nails, he stated that they would do a Fall Arena Tour in the U.S. and still played FIVE Canadian cities (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary).

I dunno man... Leafs might be in the playoffs... the ACC probably won't let them have any arena holds in September...

    Playoffs aren't in September.
There will be some preseason games, but there would be plenty of time for a show or two.
They could also play the Amphitheatre in September as well.

Based on absolutely zero information, I'm guessing it's a no-go for Canada this year. I hope I am wrong for your sakes!

being that my team actually makes the playoffs, I'm fully aware they are not in september... ;)

I was taking a crack at the old thread talking about toronto shows in May, and a whole bunch of Toronto peeps suggested it would be difficult with the venue holding dates for leafs playoff games...

I think its still possible. If its a bunch of US shows and Toronto, I could see them still saying "US". If they said the broad "North American shows", and only Toronto showed up, those in Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, etc would be peeved.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if Montreal and Toronto didn't get a couple... that will probably be the start or end of the "tour"

    Anywhere else is highly unlikely.

I haven't heard anything in Winnipeg about a show this year. Every once in a while though, Pearl Jam does a good job keeping plans under wraps. No one expected London, ON to get a show last summer before Wrigley.

Winnipeg makes sense but only if Minneapolis gets a show, kind of like Calgary last year (which was also unexpected). The MTS Centre is one of the busiest arenas in North America. PJ is about the cash, if a promoter gives them a large enough guarantee and it makes sense with their routing, they'll play.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Toronto since it seems to have gratuated to a two-show city. If they play Toronto x2, Austin x2, Louisville or Cincy and then Denver, that's not leaving a lot of shows for the rest of the tour (assuming it's the usual three weeks, 12 or 13 shows).

I find that statement very hard to swallow.

I'd have to see a lot more stats to prove to me that MTS centre is a busy arena with MAJOR events.... i'm not counting shit like the Manitoba wheat and barely fair.

Winnipeg 3 x in the last 10 years, versus Houston 0 ? does that not seem completely ridiculous to anyone else?

Geez shep you're constant complaining about Houston not getting a show grows very old. Austin is a mere two and a half hours away; the Dallas show was under four hours. They aren't playing Houston but they are playing around you.
By the way, I do hope you get a show but chill a little.
