I've heard Canada will get some shows. Still trying to get details.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if Montreal and Toronto didn't get a couple... that will probably be the start or end of the "tour"

    Anywhere else is highly unlikely.
Winnipeg makes sense but only if Minneapolis gets a show, kind of like Calgary last year (which was also unexpected). The MTS Centre is one of the busiest arenas in North America. PJ is about the cash, if a promoter gives them a large enough guarantee and it makes sense with their routing, they'll play.

I find that statement very hard to swallow.

I'd have to see a lot more stats to prove to me that MTS centre is a busy arena with MAJOR events.... i'm not counting shit like the Manitoba wheat and barely fair.

Winnipeg 3 x in the last 10 years, versus Houston 0 ? does that not seem completely ridiculous to anyone else?

Check on pollstar. It's one of the 20 or 25 busiest arenas in North America. Almost every major pop/rock tour comes through here. I think Winnipeg and Toronto were the only two Canadian cities to get a Jay Z/Beyonce stadium show. When PJ played here in 2005 they sold out every seat, 16,000 tickets the first day of the on sale.

Re-read my first post before you insult a city you know nothing about. I wasn't claiming winnipeg was getting a show, in fact I'd be surprised if PJ plays here this year.

I'd be surprised if Winnipeg gets a show too.... although that would be awesome, since I think my airmiles would actually get me there, so I could save on airfare. It's expensive to fly to Toronto! ..... My fingers are crossed for the Gorge, but the weather would be so unpredictable there in October, so I dunno about that.

Yeah, they're not all about the cash. I think that's glaringly obvious. Do they want to make money? Of course. It's their careers and they have a big crew to pay. Touring is where they earn most of their money now. But they really care about putting on awesome shows and making their fans happy too.

For the record the statement was meant in jest. I am from St. John's, Newfoundland... I have full rights to sling insults at any major city in Canada, as the rest of the country slings insults at my whole province. ;)

And I don't dis-believe you on the MTS center.... I'm just surprised, I never would have guessed that would be true. I will read a little more up on it.

Geez shep you're constant complaining about Houston not getting a show grows very old. Austin is a mere two and a half hours away; the Dallas show was under four hours. They aren't playing Houston but they are playing around you.
By the way, I do hope you get a show but chill a little.

    Respectfully, no.

I'll stop bringing up Houston when people from New York stop saying "Gee, they haven't played MSG in a while" ... or when people from Chicago stop complaining about the how they don't want any more special PJ events, they just want a regular show...

I went to dallas and I kept driving to OKC. Austin is difficult for me to swing, as I have a 7-5 job monday to friday that I need to be at and they're playing sunday night....

How is me asking for a Houston show any different than the People from Milwuakee asking for a show? or cincinatti? detroit? or upstate new york/new england.

There's a large enough population base in Houston that the fact that the city is just continuously ignored is a little annoying.

I don't want to give my money to the louisiania economy, sorry. they get enough of my business at work. The city of Austin collects my tax dollars... I feel I give them enough too. Sorry. I'd just like to spend some of my hard earned dollars on the Houston economy. Call me greedy.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

You can easily hit up the Austin show then make the 2.5 hour drive back to Houston with plenty of time to rest and clean up before work. I'd gladly take that over the 5 hour drive back to Toronto from Montreal right after the show and the subsequent 5 hour drive back to Toronto from Ottawa right after the show exactly a week later during the '11 tour (went right to work for 8am the following morning on both occasions). Mind you, I'll never do something that stupid again.

Yea, that about sums it up.

I have done that drive, not once, but twice in the past. Once I was driving, once someone else was driving. Almost died on both occasions due to sleep deprived driver at the wheel almost driving off the road. Not a word of exaggeration either.

    not doing it again.

If they don't do a TO show this year it'll be the first time they've gone longer than 3 years without playing there. Bummer. I can't do any of the announced shows because the closest ones (6hrs away) are on weekdays. Toronto, only 1.5hrs, would be perfect.

'96 Toronto show to '00 Toronto show was a gap of 4 years & 14 days.
