Foxymophandlemama is awesome....if you don't get that song, then you dont get Pearl Jam. My only studio error is that they dont throw more experimental stuff like that on more albums.Turn this anger into

One and only mistake in my opinion. Its just gross. Does anyone actually listen to it all the way through?Anon said:what about "Hey, Foxymophandlemoma That's Me"

oh gosh please if I want experimental or psychedelic I'll listen to early Floyd at a science lecture. Albums have so little precious space, and they do not do b-sides anymore so screw foxy mop and give me songs. Make that statement in your DVD credit music, liner notes, maybe a secret download.0

No, they're obviously not embarrassed, I wasn't being serious but musically those imo are an instant skip. They just don't do it for me.whofeelslikeadrank said:

I'll take Foxymop, Aye Davanita, RedDot, Pry, to, Master/Slave, Hummus, etc over Big Wave any day of the week. Things like Big Wave should be a b-side or a charity contribution. The experimental stuff, that stuff cements the album. Look at Ten. It starts and ends with Master/Slave. Gives the album a bit of a feel. Foxymop, Pry,To, Aye Davanita....they give Vitalogy that creepy..sorta off feeling. Same with Yield....new experimentation. Arc kinda does this for Riot Act. Actually....is Arc the most important song from Riot Act? Think about that a second.hrd2imgn said:oh gosh please if I want experimental or psychedelic I'll listen to early Floyd at a science lecture. LB might be my favorite album since Yield, and I wouldn't touch it. But then again....we probably could have dumped Sleeping By Myself (which I LOVE the full band version) and thrown some experimental stuff on there.....something like Thunderclap, etc..Turn this anger into

I agree with this statement. I admit to not knowing the first thing about producing a record and why some sound better than others, but I feel like something is off with the way Avocado sounds compared to any Brendan Obrien-produced PJ records. I feel like he could have gotten their best sound out of this record and a comparison to Vitalogy makes sense in how the songs are stylistically.harmless_little_f*** said:I wish the production quality of Avocado had been more akin to Vitalogy.. It has some great Vitalogy-style songs, but was produced too cleanly.

Anyone remember the newsletter that had a pic of Stuart Smally at the board/controls? Maybe he pressed too many buttons?T-Bone 82 said:

At any rate, I don't care if the band likes something or not - I'll like or not like things on my own terms (and I like Mankind and Bu$hleaguer). BTW, they don't really feel that Ten is so hot either, and Mike said he's surprised that so many people find No Code so awesome. Also, Eddie said that he thinks Lightning Bolt is their best album. And Jeff's favorite album is Binaural, hands down (and I completely love this opinion, but there are folks out there who don't like Binaural much at all, so they better not listen to what Jeff thinks!). Sooooooooo..... I guess the moral of the story is that we shouldn't pay any attention to what any of the band members feel about their own music. Sometimes I think their opinions about it are crazy, LOL.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Yeah, not sure why they didn't swap Glorified g for Hold On? It'd be perfect in between Daughter and Dissident.florence151 said:
