I'm super excited about this. I picked my five songs but I still have to record my pieces about why I picked them. Included are three songs I saw live and then two other favorites.

I will let people those interested know when it will air. Can't wait for my 15 minutes seconds of fame haha.

    No air date yet. Didn't even tape it but have songs chosen.

    I'm a little scared to tell you that this was the first song EXCLUDED from the list!!!

    And here's the reason- I don't look at it as a stand alone song and think it loses some of its luster when it's not followed by Yellow Moon and Sleight of Hand (as it was the first night of Brooklyn). I love Oceans, but think I made better use of my selections by picking songs that on their own make great radio, at least in my opinion. If that makes sense....

    After signing all the forms, I want to say we did the phone thing about 3-4 days later. Side note - I was a little nervous doing it and I wish I would have said/done a few things differently...but it came out ok.

    I went with 5 versions of songs I personally have seen. I think it's a great 5-song compilation if I do say so myself.

    2 songs that they did NOT have in their catalog (which is beyond me because they are both on official releases) were:

    Corduroy - 10/4/00 (this version KILLS...and it's on a '00 bootleg?!)
    Alive - 7/3/03 (how do they not have all 3 Mansfield dates in their system??)

    If you want to listen to both of them, I created a folder on my server in hopes they would just download the 2 songs...but their policy is "it's in our system or you have to pick something else".

    I was just busting your chops. Whatever you pick is going to be great. It's the easiest and hardest thing to do. It's hard to pick just 5, but easy knowing you can't go wrong.

    It took 3 or 4 submissions for mine to finally get accepted. Keep trying!

    I was out of the country all last week and just came home to find an email that I was selected too! So excited….now to piss away an entire day trying to find ONLY 5 songs…that is like torture for a PJ super fan…. my fiancé just walked past me shaking her head as I'm scanning 4 versions of the same song to pick exactly the right ones..haha. Congrats to the others picked too, these are a lot of fun I think and can't wait to record mine/hear it air!

    I kind of regret not taking all 5 from shows I attended. But my theory on that is I still wish to see certain songs and I love the thrill of longing after a song for a long time and then finally getting it. So maybe if I play some songs on my Wishlist that I have not heard yet, the music gods will grant my wishes hahaha.

    I just sent in my release yesterday so maybe I will record sometime this week.

    I have a few notes down but I am going to develop my thoughts some more. I'm going to try to make it concise so they don't cut too much. And I must admit, I expect to be a little nervous too.

    How long is the wait between sending in songs/release and hearing back from them? As you can tell, in inpatient haha.
