hold off on 8 and listen to yield. yield=excellent weekend music. that being said, you should listen to core...umm..never. :)

i think you're right. I'm gonna put in YIELD.

What is wrong with CORE? I met STP in 1992 when they played Huntington WV. They did a meet & greet and no one knew who they were. About 20 people showed up. I got my tape inlay signed, though! :) I remember talking about Kiss with Robert Deleo. CORE isn't the definitive STP album, I agree, but it is fucking GOOD. You have to agree with me.

    Julie - DEAL! :)

i have to agree with you? i'll do no such thing. :)

i fucking love stp but core sucks. it was their ripoff PJ album. once they found their own style, they fucking *owned*. those deleo brothers have an ear for melody like nobody's business.

i consider the purple album their debut. :)

    What a banner Saturday night.

My son didn't fall asleep until 9:30.
    It's pouring down rain outside.
I'm listening to my dog lick herself as I surf the pit.

The only thing that would make this night any better would be if she kissed me before I went to sleep.

That is such a gross sound.

There is cold beer downstairs and I need one now.

When CORE was being recorded, PJ was still unknown, or TEN wasn't even released yet. TEN released 1991, CORE released 1992. I disagree.

PLUSH, to me, is the only PJ-like song. When the album came out, everyone said it sounded like Nirvana (Nevermind was big at the time as well). It's just the sound of the era.

#4 is my fav. It was Purple for years but I changed my mind a couple of years ago.

Dude, you mentioned that you love hamburgers. Have you ever had Red Robin's "Royal Burger"? A half-pound patty with a fried egg on top. YES.

Damn people.... Popeye's is da shit.. never been to cheeseburger in paradise but not much of a Buffet fan and really don't care for theme restaurants. Just give me some good food and I'm happy. On the topic of cheeseburgers, fuddruckers has awesome cheeseburgers. And its just cool to say their name.

As for STP, I only ever bought Core and the vasoline single.. haven't seen the need to buy anything else. Not that none of the rest isn't good, just haven't felt the need to purchase it.

And today is shaping up to be a nice day in the city of brotherly love. Think I'll do some work around the house and yard with Binaural, some Bush (Sixteen Stone), CCR, Led Zep II, Fugees, and Smashing Pumpkins (Zero) playing in the CD player. The weather isn't that hot or sunny yet so Bob Marley will have to wait another week. Then hopefully relax with an ice cold adult beverage and a nice cigar and watch the cars drive by with the booming system.

I like John Denver and I'm not ashamed to say it...

There... it's out there. I feel so much better now.

I was listening to some John Denver on my way into work this morning and I think that some of his songs are really great. He seemed like a cool dude...his story is a sad one. Any guy that hung out with the muppets is OK in my book. I'd rather hang out with the muppets more than some of the people that I know.

So I was thinking that it would sound cool if Pearl Jam covered "Leaving on a Jet Plane" towards the end of one of there shows. It just seems to me that most of the people that post here on the board share like a long distance love affair with the band and a lot of John Denver's songs touch on the sorrow and heartbreak of relationships.

Anyway, I like some of his tunes. I thought that I'd try and spice up this exceedingly dull thread with something different this morning. It is sort of on the topic...maybe...a little. I mentioned "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and you all have been discussing airfare to Washington state.

"Goodbye Again" would be great towards the end of a Pearl Jam set as well.

I'm really excited for Camden, more so then any of the other shows I'm seeing. Long holiday weekends suit Pearl Jam concerts.

FANCH I also love Popeye's Chicken. My college roomate was from New Orleans and he turned me on to all kinds of great food. As a company policy, the fryer oil is changed on Wednesdays...once a week and on Wednesdays. Don't eat there on Tuesdays. This is the truth and comes from a reliable source. Food is good, the spicier the better.
