The version on the Philly 1 boot from this tour (10/21/2013) was remarkable. Boom's brother was in town for his birthday, and Boom and Mike just shred it at the end. Was absolutely amazing to watch live.
They became epic when Mikey and Boom took over the solo . . . . I know the one from Ottawa in 2005 is pretty sweet. VERY long and Mike and Boom exchange time in the spotlight very nicely during the long outro....

Love the studio version. However, I really like the live version from Dallas 2003. Probably won't get that many votes here, but it was real folky sounding and just really awesome overall.
Irvine 1 2003 had great Mike/Boom back & forth duelling solos. Boot has awesome sound quality as well. That's my recommendation.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
I gotta say Philly '05 that was sweet, especially with the weird feedback issue it just worked so well with the overall feel of the song. I listen to that one all the time.
Anything you lose from being honest You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.
I hadn't heard the studio version in years until it came on Sirius this weekend. I was absolutely flawed at how perfect that song sounds.
I can't put my finger on it but I remember sitting drinking coffee late night at one of those all night family restaurant places and it came on. I loved it ever since. The live versions don't do it for me though. I'm not sure why. I love the hell out of the Studio Version.

State College 2003 is great, as is Perth 2003. Best versions are from 2003 IMO. I know the worst, Prague 2012, Ed actually loses his voice during the song. Shambles
Funny how polarizing this song is to pj fans. I freakin love it and to hear Mike and Boom go at it.....magic. I say. Gorge was my favorite. On three disc box set.

I was actually about to vote for that version as well. Any '03 version of Crazy Mary is great though.

Touching Flyers ice, through the boards covering the floor, makes that show a bit more memorable.
