If it doesn't affect play, I wouldn't worry about it. Ways of fixing warps make me nervous when applied to an expensive piece of vinyl.

I have put records between glass and in the oven on LOW! for a very quick 30 seconds or so. It works but I would not do it with vinyl that plays fine.

what MedozK said. You need to dig deeper into this forum; someone addressed this. I do NOT recommend this AND I have not tried this...but I'd heard between two sheets of glass in your oven @ x temperature for x minutes. I'm not going "try out" cooking my wax in an oven...you only get one shot! And it must stink up the kitchen! But there's a detailed thread on here somewhere....wish I could remember the OP's name, the thread was rather long!! Good luck!

I've been wondering about this as well. The first record in my down on the upside set has become so warped it launches the needle on the record player :( I'm not sure how it happened or why it didn't happen to the 2nd record in the set. I have some mild warps in some of my old records but nothing that seems to impact play like this one record. I keep hoping they reissue it sometime :)

Again, I would NEVER do this on any vinyl of value....unless I HAD too.

The Vinyl flat looks interesting, but that's basically a $100 item to repair my one record (Down on the Upside) that is so warped it launches the need. The record itself is worth about 80 bucks when it doesn't launch the needle.. so meh..

Cool Idea though.. Would of bought one for 20 or 30 dollars.
  • Vinyl between two sheets of glass with lots of heavy books on top NEAR a radiator works very well. I have done this many times. I wouldn't worry about it. It won't damage the vinyl-it can only make it better. Just make sure the glass is very clean.

i've put vinyl on ground where the sun hits the floor...laid a book or two on top of some glass. Worked fine.

The viny flat looks very interesting, and worth it if a very valuable record is so warped that it won't play properly. Thanks for posting that!
