Vincent van Gogh - Girl with Orange

I am a great fan of the impressionists. The way the use the colors, and the way the use the brushstrokes to give speed to their pieces, they make their works come alive. I like the way their works look realistic but in a closer look you see it's their interpretation of the real world, their impression...

Aafke, I like Van Gogh quite a bit too.
I like the way he uses texture, color, and simple subjects. :)

Even without the title, it was pretty easy to see this Kush painting is related to the well-known Last Supper painting. :)

    I like the flowers!

    André Pielage - Acute

I love the way this artist suggest people in his work, but you can't fulfil the desire to interact with them. So basically his work is all about unfulfilled desires.

I think it's interesting that the art you like is a lot darker than what I like Aafke.

I think it depends on what you describe as dark Justjam. I Have always found surrealistic art really dark. This last artist André Pielage was a close friend of mine. We attended the art academy together twenty years ago, and always discussed our art for many ours. His art Evolved a lot since we last have spoken. But in this work I see the old intentions of his art back, that's why I love this piece. He always felt seperated from the rest of the world and tried to keep contact trough his art. That's what I see in this work. Here is an other one of him... called "Transparent?"
