I've resorted to using my iPhone if I want to use the forum. Can't handle the layout on my laptop. I even downloaded Flux to try and make the white/blue easier on my eyes but it didn't help.

There have been dozens, if not hundreds of reasonable questions and comments and none of them have been addressed.

I'm shocked that no one has stepped up and said "calm down guys, we're working on this night and day until we fix some of the problems..."

i havent read this entire thread, but one thing i used to enjoy on the old forum was having the ability to see the date, month and year when each post was submitted...not just the time when it was posted.

i know that i read somewhere that someone thought it was a good idea to have the title of the thread at the top of each persons post. i agree. i miss that too. its easy to get lost.

alphawolf - if you go back to previous day's posts you will have the date, though not the year.

Anyone know what happens when you click 'dismiss' on a thread? Dont really want to see all the announcements under recent discussions, but dont want to get rid of them forever.

The announcement becomes a normal topic that's only on top when a new comment is posted.

Nothing people have shown concern for here has changed as far as I can tell. Am I missing something?

Actually, they have been. There are many things they've tweaked that are obviously based on comments made here. The thing is everyone needs to give up on the white background issue, as:

    1) It's pretty standard on pretty much EVERY high traffic web site. And, I don't mean message boards. I mean news, etc.
    2) Kat already said this is it.

Honestly, this is fine. Remove the sigs and the split between posts are fine. The only place I see an issue is on the computer I have an older version of IE and everything is shifted left. But, I don't see that as their problem. Nobody can expect support for old software forever.

Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Why do high traffic websites have white backgrounds?

Surely PJ.com is not really "high traffic" compared to news sites, etc.

Agreed. I wasn't trying to make it sound like all has been fixed. Sorry if it came across that way. I was responding to the Nothing. The lost PMs and wall issues folks have raised still need to be addressed one way or the other. However, it's clear the cosmetics of the site are (for the most part) what they are. That has been addressed.

Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

In terms of quick hits, etc, it is. When you are reading an article on say msn, you click once, read for a few minutes then maybe click again. Here it's, click, read, click, read, click read. So in terms of system response, it is a relatively high volume. Maybe still not as much as an msn, but then again, you'd wait 5 seconds for msn to download their article. Would you put up with waiting each time you looked, posted, or erroneously clicked on a thread? It's all relative.

It still is horrible and disconnects us all. Wasn't a good change and I hope 10c recognizes this.

It would be interesting to look at the traffic on the entire site minus these posts commenting on the new shitty layout. I'd bet anything it's down. It's just not as friendly a place as it used to be. I've seen a number of people who used to post here frequently say just that. This thing is a mess.
