Wow, thank you for your descriptive and informative rundown there. I will have to look into one of these I think at some point.lanoisseforp wrote:
Last January... I bought the record clamp off some fella from Hong Kong between $40 - $45.
Brand name: Alchemist
Weight: 280 grams
Dimensions: 1 1/4 inch (Height)
Diameter: 2 1/2 inch (top) 3 inch (bottom)
Extras: Spirit level and Strobe (33/45)
It's pretty well made with a shiny black finish and has felt underneath it as in a grip when sitting on the label of the LP. Also has a 4 groove finger grip when picking up and laying down on the label of the record. 2 colors available... black and silver. I chose the black as the nearest match for my turntable but what I should have done is picking the silver instead to match the buttons, tonearm, etc. The downside to this is... it doesn't work with large centers from 45s but I am happy with it so far and I hope the picture here makes it easier with the close up view.
Oh yes... Steel Wheels rule hard... a fantastic recordhinsey21 wrote:

You are welcome hinsey21... and I have noticed your Technics SL-B2 Turntable... it must be ancient? and it's very appealing
Try not get a record clamp heavier than 360 grams... less stress on a flat belt.hinsey21 wrote:Wow, thank you for your descriptive and informative rundown there. I will have to look into one of these I think at some point....0 -

Yeah it's likely ancient. i bought it used real cheap over a year ago. I had a stanton and had used the shit out of it and needed a change. I also didn't like how the stanton didn't have a dust cover. But yeah the SL-B2 is doing the trick for now. Its been good. I want to spend some proper money and get something else eventually, its just real hard to know which way to go with that. I don't use the original headshell. I found that my stanton headshell with my shure m97x was giving me the best sound.
But anyway.....lanoisseforp said:You are welcome hinsey21... and I have noticed your Technics SL-B2 Turntable... it must be ancient? and it's very appealing
