I'm glad I summoned the urge to resist buying more than one, as after you frame them, it's as expensive of a hobby as going to shows (minus the travel).
Though someday when I have more disposable income and room to hang them, I may be kicking myself!
Many, including myself, rush to judgement here. This is a fair comment to make that you have made. And a very respectful one at that.
If there were no Oakland or Seattle posters... posters such as the Pitt one or the Portland one would not be 'special'. I'd have still bought those posters if I was at either of those shows. I bought Lamb boy, framed it, put it up in our house- not in a very visible spot mind you.
I never framed 'smoking-moose-with-plaid shirt' though. I'm not sure what I'll do with that one? Trade it for an Emek maybe.
Last night's Vancouver one is underrated. It's 'flattening' in my living room right now. I'll be framing it. The ink that Ken Taylor used might be killing any pests that have sought refuge inside our house from the bitter cold.

LOL on the Lamb Boy comment...talk about unique! Yeah, that one would be good for a basement bathroom or something.
I've got 'Scary Skeleton Guy' from Indy 2010 and it's in my garage. Tough if i had a proper room in my house, I'd talk the wife into letting me hang it!

I thought we had great variety this tour...fresh faces...leading to diverse posters. I think it's one if their best tours overall in a long time. Emek finally puts out a worthy PJ/EV print after waiting years following Charlotte 96. I'm usually not a fan of munk but his two prints were terrific.
My standouts:

I would agree with this list if you take freaky cowboy out of there. It's a decent Ames' effort, but on another level artistically than the rest of the posters you imaged.

Funny, as I was thinking the same thing:
Art is subjective but come on, Pitt and Portland should be in a museum.
Overall, I prefer the posters that have big areas of the same color contrasting other big areas of a different color PHX red/white, Pittsburgh, Charlottesville, or LA 2 or Worcester 2 OR the just a simpler more graphic design, like the Brooklyn 1/2, Hartford, Calgary Variants (cover that clown face up...). You'd think I would like the Seattle poster but I don't, it looks mailed in to me.
Some are just too busy for my taste, way too much goin' on. LA1, OKC, Buffalo, Baltimore.
I am having my Portland poster framed because it is so artistically beautiful.
But I have to say I thought the Seattle poster was crap till I saw it in person and I hate to admit that I like the Seattle poster the best because it is straight to the point. The turquoise skeleton hand mixes well with the orange red spray paint. And the metallic dots adds just the right background spec. I will also have it framed because people will come over and they will KNOW that they are looking at a poster from the best band ever!!

I think Charlotte and Baltimore are the most over rated. Charlotte is not offensive and for someone from Charlotte I can understand the symbolism but it's a hornets nest. So what? As for Baltimore - same city symbolism but those eyes are 2nd only to that Kozik one. They're not even freaky/creepy/scary or whatever is trying to be done there. They are just....weird.
I think Worcester 2 is the most under rated. The pendulum, glow like look and the connection to the album I think connected with the band and the tour better than any other print on the tour. Don't think it is appreciated enough.
Like others have said - art wise regardless of lack of direct connection to the band Portland, Pitt and Philly 2 are the best. Obviously there are some allusions to the album and maybe city but they are really cool art on a PJ poster and not really PJ art per se. I'd put them top 3 based solely on the art. But I would put the Klausen Pendulum top overall just because it is good art if a notch or 2 below these while connecting to the album the tour is promoting.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
