Phoenix had the best setlist in my opinion. However, I wasn't there to experience the energy of the crowd. Had a great time at the 3 shows I was at(Wrigley, OKC & SEA), and had they played the setlist as planned at Wrigley, that would have taken it(in my opinion).

Seattle's setlist left something to be desired. But before I am attacked for saying that, please remember that we all have our own opinions, favorite songs, and songs we want to see live.

While I was very thankful to be at all the shows I was able to attend, in future tours, I will be happy to take my chances at seeing my favorite songs(again, in my opinion) in another random city, preferably closer to home, other than Seattle. After following all of the setlists throughout the tour, the expectations for Seattle were set extremely, possibly unattainably, high by those on the Facebook threads I was following. And I'll take some of the blame on that as well. The expectations I should have set in my own mind, should have been set lower, or maybe none at all. Other than to expect a three hour rocking show from my favorite band. Lesson learned.

But every show that I've seen over the last few months, has left me wanting more. That's what's great about this band. I don't think I'll ever get sick of the excitement behind what's next from these guys. Until next time.....
    2013: Wrigley, OKC, Seattle
    2014: Moline, St. Paul, Milwaukee
    2016: Greenville, SC, Fenway Night 1 & 2, Wrigley Night 1

what makes a great setlist? I'm not trying to be a smartass, but it seems every setlist makes somebody happy. With so many great songs, how can there be a bad setlist?

it is easy to work out

    1) look at all 25 setlists
    2) choose the setlist that hits a high %-age of your "want to hear songs"
    3) bang, there's your favorite ;)

I don't mean to pick on you, but you posted this before and I responded to it the same way:

Worcester 2 (aside from Other Side being played which was amazing) was by far the tamest setlist of the tour (and I was there). It had its moments and I had a great time at it, but even compared to the other 4 I saw it finished dead last in terms of over all show, setlist, energy and "wow" factor.

    BUT let me add:

I love the fact that it's possible to call a 29-song show on this tour "tame". That = an amazing tour any way you look at it.

i think by playin even flow every show it gives mike a chance 2 shred & just unleash. some of these jams are so fresh & raw. I'm glad even flow is a staple.

I wasn't there. Just look at the flow. Play the audio recordings in this row and hear how smooth the mixes are (if it happens to have a fade-out Winamp plug-in it works even better). Amazing. I like when PJ do that (which they do not do often). Another example for me is Vancouver 2009. I've listened to the bootleg and I cannot say that I liked it a lot, but the flow of the show gave me a nice feeling overall.

That show was incredible and I have been surprised to hear little about it on these boards. I think the recency of the second leg has made people forget about how great Leg 1 was. Also, Pendulum opening every night (besides 1) made Leg 1 seem more predictable, even though the sets changed significantly.

And it lets Mike shred for a while while Ed rests his voice.

i think it was chicago 2009 and a guy had a no evenflow sign. Ed said Mike has to play it or he will go crazy -- its what keeps him from killing guys like you (the guy with the sign) and then Ed offered to help Mike beat him up.

I know this a little off topic, but what if PJ just came out and did a backwards night. You know, open up with RTFW and shook things up a bit.? I was not at any of the LB shows, so they all seemed great following from a distance. That being said here is my top set lists of the tour:

    1. Calgary
    2. Vancouver
    3. San Diego
    4. Hartford

I was at Calgary and Spokane. Of my now 8 shows, Spokane was the best one Ive been at (first show, Seattle, Dec '00, right there too). So many gems, and rare shit like Stone singing (whether you like the song or not it was rad energy), the Brain of J haircut (how can you write that into a setlist), the return of PJ after 20 years to Spokane. The hotel full of PJ fans, and the bar playing non stop PJ made it a great vibe. Huge gets for me:Pendulum (hadnt seen it yet, love it). Tremor christ. Present tense. Push me, pull me. I wont back down (amazing). Nothing as it seems. Footsteps. Dont gimme no lip. Brain of J (haircut rarity). Plus many 'standard' awesome songs. Encore 1 was crazy! And yes, being 15 feet from center stage for 3 hours and 11 min didnt hurt either!

I'll separate my list by shows I've seen and shows I haven't this tour

    Seen

    1. Tie - Bk 2 and Philly 2 - these two shows are very different, despite having the same beginning (wash-nothingman!)...it's impossible for me to pick one over the other. They both had great energy, variation, and near perfect song selection
    BK 2 had -
    last exit-hail hail-in hiding-down,
    present tense-rats,
    immortality-solat,
    a crazy 1st encore:
    footsteps
    all those yesterdays!!!
    future days
    2nd encore:
    whipping-blood

    while Phl 2 had:
    hail hail-satan's bed!!-untitled-mfc
    wwsuicide-dte
    1st encore:
    come back-future days-breath-solat!
    2nd encore:
    last kiss-leaving here-blood

Satan's bed and ATY were my two biggest holy shit moments, hearing songs I never thought I'd hear.

    3. Phl 1 - highlights include crazy mary (insane jam on this one), brain of j-animal, i got id, sirens-lukin-not for you,spin-rvm, man of the hour-off he goes, 1/2 full-leash-i believe in miracles...pilate was kinda fun to hear but it was very sloppy and kinda killed the momentum
    4. Bk 1 - highlights - dissident, chloe dancer/crown of thorns, oceans. It's at the bottom because 1st encore's sleight of hand/just breathe didn't do much for me

Unseen: based on song selection/order/rarity and also a bias toward shows that had songs I didn't get to hear (insignificance, smile, after hours, nothing as it seems, severed hand, tremor christ, of the girl, gods' dice, red mosquito, breakerfall)

    vancouver
    spokane
    calgary
    Oakland
