We are taking him to the vet tomorrow to get put down...He has had a big cancer on his bum for a while now and it has just started bleeding and he can't sleep at night, so we decided to get him put down. :( I'll miss him

He is a Golden Labrador named suede. He is 15 later this year, and we have had him since a puppy so he has been with me pretty much my whole life. :(

    Oh Darlin' Sam :(
I am sooooo sad for you. Suede would be like a brother to you. Just know that he's had a long, great life and that he will no longer be in any pain or suffering.
There's nothing any of us can say to make you feel better, but know that you're in my thoughts, honey :)

Thanks for your kind words, we knew it was coming for a while, but we didn't think we would have to put him down. We are all hoping he will go tonight.. Not likely though.

    You poor thing!

Leigh and I lost our Boxer on Australia Day in 2004. She was 10.5 years old (which is old for a Boxer) and I got her when I was 14. Her name was Jamie Lee. She had cancer of the lower back (we didn't know) and we woke up one day and she couldn't walk because her lower discs had disintegrated. The 3 of us slept in the lounge room (she couldn't move) and slept our very last night together as a family and held her little paws. We put her down the very next day and had her cremated.

I know what you're going to go through and it isn't going to be pretty. It will get better...but it's going to take a while.

One thing I regret is not writing down all the little things we remembered about Jamie Lee. Leigh used to sing Jamie her own little songs and we can only remember one of them now. Now we have our new Boxer (Jamie's grand-niece) and our Dalmatian, the memories all sort of run together. Get on the computer and type up a list of memories, fun things, sad things, stupid things, her favourite food, her favourite walks etc so you can keep it forever.

We recently found some video footage on Jamie Lee and if it wasn't for that footage, we would have forgotten a major place where Jamie Lee used to sit. I never would have believed we would forget "her spot" but we did...neither of us had thought about it for years. So sad. :(

I sure am, are you? They are playing a 4 hour set apparently, so they've had to throw in some non pearl jam covers as well... I'm sure they will be good ones though.

Sweet!!! Will definitely be there, along with some mates who are tagging along.... then later it's off to the PowderChair gig, so might not be able to catch the whole set... :(
