The "blind" part is that you do not know what color Falla Sheep will be inside each box...see link below

I guess I don't understand the whole concept? Ron English, Falla Sheep? As Mac and Dennis would say "I'm getting too old for this shit."

all it's going to end up being is a ridiculously sought-after item on the secondary market because there were only a few to buy, and those that bought it, only bought it because they know that it is going to be ridiculously sought-after because there were only a few to buy.

it is a fairly odd item.

  • Idk why this thing is confusing people... It's a vinyl figure... These are highly collectible outside of PJ fandom. Vinyl figures are exclusively blind box, which is part of the collecting appeal, kind of like not knowing what toy you're going to get from a gum ball machine... It's a designer toy that will appeal mostly to toy collectors... These toys just happen to have a small connection to pearl jam... No big deal.

That's the bit I miss out on, they are only associated with Pearl Jam because of the appearance of the word Pearl Jam on the box? Why are Pearl Jam invovled at all, unless the vinyl figures were going to be of the band themselves I don't understand the connection.

I'm sorta the same with the Logger jacket, $99 for a fancy jacket that has a minisule PJ logo stitched to the bottom. I don't get the attraction, I don't understand what makes this a Pearl Jam item rather than a completely third party item that PJ is endorsing as quality. They are a band and cultural gatekeepers now too?

Not trying to be ranty or negative, I love Pearl Jam, I just don't get the merch starategy sometimes with this items only peripherally associated with the band.
Terrible bonus digital content for fan club members? That's a paddlin'

I'm in total agreement with you and I've had these same thoughts often.

I think these stupid sheep are ridiculous too but these and the other stuff, I suspect, is just an attempt to help out the friends that make it.
