I was at both. It's hard to compare shows since each is a different experience. Charlottesville was incredible, unforgettable, epic...etc, but I was on the rail, the set list kept hitting home for me, and the boys were on fire.

For Charlotte I was 4th row behind GA. Crowd around me was into it, but reserved for the most part, except for the guy right in front of me who kept getting up on his seat. To his credit he got down quickly after a quick tap on the back each time though. Very good set list, band was tight, Getaway debut...etc, but I can't compare Charlotte to Charlottesville.

That said someone who was in GA in Charlotte and seats in Charlottesville likely has a different viewpoint.

  • Had they played Wash and Leash, we'd be talking about closer to a toss up. It still stings that they scratched those, and I wonder if we can get some clarification as to whether they were told by the building/city that they were at curfew. If so, it's on the band for not starting the show at 8.

As it was though, there's not a contest between the two. C'ville had that rare magic.
