HD Video download of each show
Options
So , I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned. Each show is now professionally shot and produced live in real time. We were far enough back in baltimore to utilize the screens and our excellent sight line. The camera work was so awesome that it was hard to decide whether to watch the badass light show or the video that felt like we were in a rock video(Bruce utilizes this too).
So why not step it up and make these available for download for a fair price? Win win situation as the work is already done...seems like a natural evolution to me:)

I actually feel like tenclub has sort of been moving backwards when it comes to this. The 2006 tour was incredible because you could download every show for $10 the following day! Imagine getting home from a show, going to sleep, waking up and you could download the show and relive it almost immediately after. Don't know why they stopped doing that... Now we have to wait months sometimes, and I think not all the shows are always available (may be wrong about that)?
Either way, would love to see them go back to something like that. The video idea is sweet, but I imagine editing that would take some more time. But if we had audio boots to keep us entertained in the mean time, would be glad to wait for some video!0 -
The Who did this with their 2006 tour, selling show CDs and DVDs using the house-video source. Not sure if it was a viable product in the long run, but I enjoyed the copy of the show I went to.0

That is the thing...the video editing is already done...just leave it the way it was cut at the show...download only so no mfr required..use the hd audio that they are going to use for the boots and bam....DONE

This would be amazing... I have always wished that Bruce would do this but alas -- never.
I agree -- couldn't be more win/win for everyone but I've always wondered if Bruce's hesitancy to release the film footage was because he'd be afraid that folks would buy official bootleg videos rather than go to the shows. And in today's day/age of file sharing there might actually be stats to support that theory. I have no idea, of course.0 -

I'm not sure those videos are actually recorded. I remember hearing at one point that most video shot at shows and played on the screens is simply used in that environment and not backed up. I know some might find that hard to believe, but it really isn't all that surprising.Lanternjaw wrote:This would be amazing... I have always wished that Bruce would do this but alas -- never.

The stats I've heard actually point in the other direction. The more recordings people download, the more likely they are to go to the show because they realize how great it is. Heard this from Umphrey's McGee's keyboard player. They've been selling recordings since '04 and have started doing a lot of video streams recently too and their attendance rates are shooting through the roof2006: Hartford

This would be great! Or just have an option when the bootlegs are released that they include a dvd of the show. I would love that. Especially if it was a bluray of a show...0 -

I'm fairly sure that Pearl Jam does record the video from their shows, they used a lot of the footage from the 2009 Australian Tour in the pj20 film.0 -
Just imagine for this Lightning Bolt tour Pearl Jam offers up a CD+DVD combo for every show?
If it was offered we all would do .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfPg5LjGYz80 -

Well especially since all it takes is a hard drive inline somewhere. Not saying what they are doing one way or another, but it would be trivially easy to capture it. Now, capturing it to produce a DVD probably has more challenges than are obvious.0
