    It was a cool experience.
When I arrived at 830 PM, I was last ( for a few moments).
I was approx 27th in line. Right behind the first barrier.

& if not for him, it wouldve been unbearable.
If you';re out there, Big thanks. Appreciate it !

We have all seen the posters so thats old news by now,
And Don Pendleton was indeed there, but
we were advised not to disturb him at work.

A guy directly infront of me on line picked up 5 of each poster.
They did not implement the limitations we had all heard of.

One of the Brooklyn 35 dollar tees I picked up had only 1 date on it, the 19th . :fp:

The kicker was , not a single city/tour stop sticker to be seen
and just as absent, if not moreso,
not a single fucking new Lightning Bolt hat, of any variety, period.

Don't know what the point was
other then to be around equally as rabid fans on one city sidewalk for 4+ hours.
Oh well, I got my show posters for the Brooklyn gig. Whoo- whoo,..

oh snap. i saw eli for a second or two
but had to get in line quick .
I was alone. Not worth the trouble to cut the line,
considering i was in the first 30 anyways.

    appreciated the nice mix.
I especially liked Sleater Kinney and Ed doing Promised Land from 05.
I also remember hearing Atlantic City. :)

  • Am I really the only one that thinks the art work for the album is complete crap other than the cover? I mean really, that Swallowed Whole thing on a back of a hoodie has to be the worst idea ever. And then to be subjected to that kiddie art for the Brooklyn show posters - give me a break.

I guess I'm glad I don't have to ruin a nice Friday afternoon bar hopping in lower Manhattan even pondering getting to the Merch early for fear of THAT poster selling out.

Pittsbugh gets a cool Steel worker, Buffalo gets a neat Buffalo/Queen City nod of the head and Brooklyn gets square and triangle Weebles meant to represent its diversity? Egad. Let's hope Jeff realizes his friend took advantage of him and gets his brother to throw something together quickly for the real shows.

I am so glad I did not waste my time last night.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Does anyone know if the vinyl sold at the Volcom shop was a limited/colored version? Someone just sold one on ebay claiming as much (http://www.ebay.com/itm/PEARL-JAM-DON-P ... 1239241288?).
I assumed they were all the same normal (black) vinyl but would be kicking myself if that was not the case.

Just got back from Volcom and they still had shirts, vinyl, CDs, and a heavy stack of posters for both dates (at least 30+ of each?) They said they were originally not supposed to sell the posters after the pop=up last night, but that whoever was with the band said to just keep them and sell them off, FYI.

I posted about this in another thread. The hoodie logo is an atrocity from a design perspective. On the concert tees, I liked the simplcity of the designs from the front of the tees. The simple lightning bolts and eyes (except the "M" with the eyes is pretty much the MONSTERS INC. logo) - the backs of the shirts all looked bootleg. The font sets didn't even match the album art. It was close but not right. Not sure what else to say. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to riff off the WHO target Ed loves with the Bolt. What do I know...

Completely disagree. The Swallowed Whole logo is my favorite and I love the hoodie. I never splurge the $65 for hoodies at shows, but as soon as I saw that one I snagged it up. Already one of my favorite PJ merch items and I have well over 50.

To each their own I guess.

No. It's classic art from Don Pendleton, the artist who produced the album art.
    Do a little research:
    http://www.elephont.com/bio.htm

ha. idk pendleton's work, i do remember hello kitty from my youth though, haha - and yea, i don't see it as hello kitty at all! it actually reminds me of eastern european art, russian stacking dolls, etc. that's the beauty of art, we all see what we see.

i didn't go last night, and while cool stuff - glad i didn't bother. gettin' old i guess. ;) i'll get what i get at the shows, and that's that. guess it's a LONG time since waiting online all day/night for tower records, getting the s/t album, again, but it was to score a TICKET to the irving plaza show. that's about the only thing that will get me to queue up!
    Stay with me...

I am so glad I did not waste my time last night.

I agree to each his own, but don't you think that logo was originally the Balls in your Mouth logo, and Fallon just allowed them to adapt it by adding a flame - do with that what you will.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Now that is just down right hilarious. But I love that song too!

The eBay listing said limited and colored and exclusive to the Volcom sale....but I think some buyer just got duped for $75 over retail for an album that can be had anywhere!! :fp:

Easy Street in Seattle had some of the red vinyl...maybe they meant that party. I think the Volcom was just the regular though. I picked one up to look at and there was no sticker saying "Red/Colored Vinyl" anywhere so I just put it back since my 10C pre-order is being delivered this week.

I still think next time we should wear white tees with our forum names printed on them so we can ACTUALLY put faces to names.

personally i loved the poster's last night and don's work on the album. I thought it was Klausen early on until I found out that it wasn't. i just wish that i had asked him to sign them (didn't realize they were his work until i was at the subway station - thought they were ames similar to the 03 designs and variations from pitt/state college/philly) even though i heard he stopped signing postcards/posters at about 1am so he could finish his painting which i didn't even look at.

i was in and out in about 20min b/c i was tired and wanted to get home and sleep. they weren't even playing the new album in the store, and there were no stickers....now i gotta try for those this weekend

just got back from the shop and they still had lots of shirts, vinyl, cd's and posters. I only picked up the vinyl for 30$ which to me is quite expen$ive for a single LP vinyl record. But i have to have it. Listening to the vinyl as i type and it sounds fantastic so much better than thru my little computer speakers.

Which of the Volcom shirts are the true exclusive shirts for the pop up sale? I see the one posted a few posts above with e circle with lightning bolt that says Pearl jam, and then I also see pics of a black shirt with the 3 "owl" looking things (the poster artwork) that says Pearl jam under the "owls".

I believe there both Volcom shirts. Is one more exclusive to last night, compared to one that will be carried in Volcom stores/ available at the shows through out the tour?

Just want to know which one to buy right away, compared to possibly picking it up at a later date.

Yes. They had a rack of the orange LB shirt. Which i believe is the limited one, right? They also had a few other designs.
