Doesn't this sound a lot like Hail, Hail or is it just me?

The other night I was singing My Father's Son chorus in the elevator at work and I accidentally went into Hail Hail lyrics... so there is definitely something there, I just can't pinpoint it.

    I think it's the chorus.

It's fantastic. Took me by surprise really. Didn't think Eddie would have that much energy left regarding that subject.

I don't think it's about him or his family at all. I think he's singing from someone else's perspective.

Good Song. That was my thought also. But who knows

Being someone that grew up with a shit dad... Er he wasn't in the picture at all... He left my mom when I was 4 and I really have had little to no contact with him since then (I'm 30 now)... This one really hits close to home... I love the song - Gloria Estefan bridge and all...

Haha, Gloria Estefan? That's what you hear? I guess if you want to hear "Rhythm of the Night" then that's what you'll hear but I hear The Police, Elvis Costello, or even The Clash before that.

I was just speaking solely on the lyrics. The majority of them are perfect emotions to fit with the topic. I mean, I know he does this for a living, and whether it's about him or someone else, it still is a topic that they have discussed multiple times. It's great to hear that they could come up with something that sounded so new and fresh.

Is this the song where Mike also plays bass? What's going on when they play it live?

Mike and Jeff both play bass on this song... both on the album and live.

Thanks Stephen. That's some wacky shit right there. I keep thinking this song will sound weirder live than the record..

I always loved this song from the beginning, but it's really growing on me even more! Although watching the live videos, it doesn't seem to work that all. They might as well play Getaway instead of it.
