$740 was raised as of today for Cooper's medical costs, $435 of which came from the Pearl Jam community. Nissa and I can't thank everyone enough for your help. New pic of Cooper with raffle winners at http://www.gofundme.com/4innis
Even if you don't participate in the raffle, PLEASE "BUMP" THIS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, so as many people can see this post as possible. My wife and I appreciate your help, support and concern for Cooper.
Our dog Cooper, who is a 6 month old French Bulldog, decided to be daring and adventurous which resulted in him breaking four bones in his right front leg (all of the metacarpals). After reviewing Cooper’s x-rays and discussing our options with our veterinarian, we have decided to go ahead with orthopedic surgery to save his leg, verses amputation of the limb. This is the most expensive of our options for his leg, but my wife Nissa and I want to do anything we can to save the leg. On Friday, September 27th, Cooper will under go his surgery. We are unclear as to how long his surgery will take. Cooper will require follow up care after the surgery, which will include x-rays, medications, bandage changes and additional veterinary visits to ensure his leg heals correctly. Currently Cooper is at home with us on “bed rest” and receiving medication to control his pain until his surgery. Just the surgery alone is going to cost anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000, and we are having to borrow money to get this done.
My wife and I do not usually ask people for help, however, desperate times call for creative measures. We would be beyond grateful to anyone willing and or able to help us fund this surgery, any amount will help. Thank you for taking your time to read Cooper’s story.
Because of this, my wife and I have decided to hold a raffle for various Pearl Jam items.

Bump! Just donated
I know your pain...I have a 4 year old English Bulldog (see avatar) who has been under the knife 4 times already in his short life. Two of the times were only a few weeks apart and major abdominal surgeies that cost about $1,500 a piece and were super hard on him. The Vet actually seemed surprised I wanted to go ahead with it, but I would have done anything within my power to save him. Good luck and I hope for a speedy recovery!

Update on Cooper's surgery.....Today I dropped Cooper off at our veterinary clinic and he patiently awaited his surgery. My wife spoke with Dr. Peterson after the surgery. He stated the surgery was surprisingly uneventful, which was a very good thing to hear. He place 2 pins in Coopers foot, through the 2 main weight bearing bones of the foot. He told us there are weekly bandage changes and check ups in Cooper's future but he expects the foot to heal up nicely. We will have to have x-rays in the next 4 weeks or so to make sure the bone is forming a calcium callus (break is healing), and once that happens they will take the pins out. Cooper will be on medication for pain and to keep him calm, as he will be on "bed rest" for about 6-8 weeks. Lets hope he doesn't hate his kennel by the end of this.
Thank you for all of the well wishes and positive thoughts. The support we have received is amazing and we are very appreciative of it.
We will keep everyone up to date on Cooper's progress.0 -
