Great Bands that you can no longer stand listening to

Maybe it's because I have heard some music so many times repeated on the radio, but some bands that I liked in the past I now cannot stand listening to. And these are typically really good bands with great songs. Anyone else experience this?

a few that come to mind right now:

Police/Sting
Billy Joel

    Yes, indeed. Agree about Police, Sting I was never a fan of, and the Rolling Stones. Can't stand to listen to either of them now, don't know why exactly.

    wow. funny how these things are very different for each person. ALL of the bands you guys just mentioned I like a lot and can still listen to. The Rolling Stones - I actually am just really getting into them recently, after only knowing their radio songs all these years.

    There's a few I don't listen to at all that I've liked enough to see them live in the past. The Chili Peppers spring to mind.

    for me--seems like the music I listened to as a kid has been carved into my brain and I'll always go back to it...I'm late to PJ but they take up most of the space in my skull...

    Bands that I used to love but can't stand now..

    Gn'R are top of that list by quite a distance. Followed by Ozzy/Sabbath, AC/DC, Maiden. Basically most of the 'classic' metal/rock that I grew up listening to.

    felt that way for a bit...came back around...don't get rid of the vinyl! I held onto them and give em a spin now and then.

    I regret dumping a mess of CDs--screaming trees, nwa, nudeswirl...now that I'm in my 40s I'm beginning my trip back to my 20s...It's a long road

    Smashing Pumpkins for me.

    Their old stuff can still be alright, as long as you don't think about what they all became musically...especially "William"!

    Anything that would probably classified as "light rock" back in the 70's and 80's. Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and so on.

    I even hate to say this but even Queen for me is getting really hard to listen to. I've got a fan who listens to a lot of classic rock and he never ventures too much out into a bands rare songs. And for Queen he would always play Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions, and Another One Bites the Dust to the point that I would hate listening to ANY Queen song....

    Too late for that - I sold a huge chunk of my old vinyl a few years back when I moved from the UK to Australia. It included the first 9 Maiden LPs (up to Fear of the Dark), the first 4 GnR records including an original sleeve Appetite and a bunch of others that I really don't miss

    The Police, definitely.

    Foreigner, Journey, Kansas, Styx, REO Speedwagon, etc. etc. etc., but then again I NEVER liked those bands.

    Rolling Stones, anything after Some Girls is to be avoided IMO.

    I used to hate Led Zeppelin; growing up, the local radio station played LZ every half hour, and it was awful. But now I like some of their songs.
