I was listening to Sleight of Hand album track and the part where he sings "Mondays were made to fall, lost on a road he knew by heart" and I remembered hearing a live version where he sang "lost on a road he knew by fucking heart." Not my favourite song choice to insert an f-bomb.

Sleight of Hand could make my top 25. Forgot how much I love this song. It's easy to do when PJ has 100+ great songs.
Another habit says it's in love with you
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self
  • Not read 29 pages so this might've been covered already but I think Ed adding a swear to Bushleaguer enhances it

"The haves have not a fucking clue"
Happy up here in my tree
  • Totally agree with the OP

Ain't it funny when things change so much, it's all state of mind?
  • I thought it was cool back in the day. I guess growing older has changed my views on several things.
This being one of them. No need to cuss during songs. I think it cheapens the emotion. It also stinks
because I will not listen to the PJ channel around my kids. Just my 2 cents....

Have to say, I like the F bombs. To me, it's authentic PJ, and there IS emotion in it. And I do have kids (14, 16) and we listen to PJ Radio all the time. Just goes with the territory, part of the deal. Oddly comforting.

I doesn't cheapen Ed's emotions. He's got a potty mouth, always has, probably always will. It's completely genuine coming from him. It's just how he talks and sings. Accept it. ;)

  • I'm sure in Sirens, "This here town" will become "This F'n town". Not wishing it will happen but guessing it will happen.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

I meant that it cheapened the emotion for me....not Ed. Maybe my choice of words were incorrect.
Been a fan since the beginning and always will be! I just don't need cuss words to understand the
    power of the music!

I understand. :) But I don't think it's going to stop, so hopefully it doesn't impact you too much! ;)
I personally feel that the word fuckin' adds extra impact to pretty much anything, and that's why it's a good word. So I fuckin' like it.

  • Like Twain stated: "When angry, count to four. When very angry, swear."
  • Dear OP and everyone who agrees:

What the fuck happened to you in the last 22 years?

I just don't get it, and I'm glad that whatever it is didn't happen to me.
