It beats me why Townsville gets the right to obtain a team in the A-League. I don't think Queensland is big enough for 3 teams, especially when 2 of them are brand new teams, and it's safe to assume that the Gold Coast franchise is going to be the strongest out of the 2. It's gonna be a huge tug-of-war between the 3 Qld clubs to secure promising young Queenslanders
My pick would've been either a 2nd Melbourne team or a team playing out of Canberra

Think about it, up north you got the cowboys in the NRL who sell out every game at home.
you got Cairns and Townsville both with teams in the NBL and who sell out games.
and on the gold coast they have had what? 1 AFL team fail, 3 NRL teams go to shit, 3 NBL teams die a sad little death.
and now the market there has just got flooded again with the new NBL team, the Titans, now the new A-League team, and the very big chance of having an AFL team next season, i don't think all those national teams are gonna survive on the goldie.
