gracie had hella fun today. she met a 4 month old german wire haired pointer.

One of my dogs did the cutest thing today...I was heading out the door to go grocery shopping, now as silly as this sounds I even say bye to my dogs . I said "bye, I'll get you some treats" and I kid you not, my girl did a perfect beg and waved her two paws at me, like this:



As a joke, sometimes I'll wave my hand at her and try and get her to wave a paw in the air at me, but I wasn't even trying to get her to do that.

gracie is at the vet, as I type, for her LAST chemo . kind of bittersweet, tho, because now it seems like we have done all we can do for her incurable cancer :( . please send your vibes for the longest remission EVER!!!!

speaking of frustrating, after 7 years of having a happy traveler, norm no longer like long car rides...he goes into full anxiety attacks...he always rides in the far back in my jeep but now once he knows it's gonna be a long trip, he climbs over the backseat and joins me up front...then he tries to either lie on top of me or get under my seat...all while we're going at highway speeds...the best i've been able to do with him is to get him to curl up on the passenger side floor...but he still is freaked out...so for a 5 hour drive, he is panting and generally nervous the whole way

so i got a thundershirt...seems everyone has had success with one of those...nope, didn't faze norm...so i asked my vet for a sedative but she told me she doesn't want to prescribe him one because he is hypothyroid (which i didn't know)...her only advice was to give him benadryl but i'm not sure how well that'll work

anyone have any advice as to how to calm norm down

try the benadryl. as part of igby's ongoing cancer treatment, he takes HALF a pill every morning, and it puts him into a puppy coma. couple hours later, he's his usual happy, pug self. i strongly recommend. also, PLEASE get norm a seatbelt or seatbelt tether. thank you.
