love it, second best on that record
  • When that album came out, Life Wasted was #1 and Marker #2. I think Marker has probably the best set of lyrics in the last 3 albums, and possibly the best chorus. The way Ed sings the verses doesn't really work. So, idk, i sorta feel like this song needed more work; could have been something more. I know how it sounds saying that, but i think the fact that it's not really a staple or favorite somewhat proves that. Not to mention Ed really can't sing it live.

So half Love/half indifferent. I listened to it a ton at the time tho...

    cheers

Really? The verse melody is the best part in my mind. Perfection. I think the reason it's tough live is because of the odd time signature. Ed sings it fine live ... but he gets gets lost in the lyrics and ends up repeating the first verse.

This is one of the most underrated PJ songs IMO. I would love to see this show up again in set lists. It's vibe isn't conducive to showing up regularly in set lists, but maybe once in ten shows or so seems appropriate.

I would say it falls just short of love in my book. I love the Last Exit-esque main riff, and the chorus is beautiful. Plus the outro is great.

I usually skip this one. I like the lyrics, but don't care much for the music. (Sorry, Mike.)
