    A rumor started by Mr. Vedder himself... according to a story in the Los Angeles Times endorsed by Rolling Stone, Vedder could be planning a solo tour. The possible tour would have Vedder playing much more intimate venues than he's used to with Pearl Jam. "If you surf fifty-foot waves all the time, you can't try too many new things, because fifty-foot waves are kind of life and death," Vedder, an avid surfer, explained. "Playing big shows is like that. So you want to take on some smaller waves to rework or refine what you do, and then take it back to the big surf." Hard-core Pearl Jam fans need not worry that Vedder entertaining the idea of a solo jaunt signals the end of the band, however. "We've been a group for a long time," the singer said. "And we will continue to be so, I hope, for a really long time."
