Whatever. Like I said, surprised they revisited it. Intrigued to hear it. Either way I'm just as excited for this fall as I was before.
This, basically.
People get outraged over the dumbest things.
Not everyone is OUTRAGED. I had an opinion that I was surprised it was being used full band, and started to get flamed for it. It is OK to have an opinion. Maybe I should have mentioned I never thought it was a great song before. Maybe having the full band will change that. Maybe not.
Of course, I may have got flamed for not thinking the world the solo version either.
Truthfully I wasn't directing that at you at all. Thats why i said other places. I disagree with you but that is fine. As it is for everyone else. I just think people jumpe to judgement on stuff way too soon.
It's 2013 you would think I'd be used to it.0 -

It was also a Pearl Jam song first prior to ever being released on the Ukulele songs album.
I just think with 3 full band songs that we know of floating around, SBM maybe should have just gotten the same treatment as Setting Forth and just played live sometimes.
It's not like nobody had ever heard a uke version of Can't Keep before it showed up on Riot Act.
How do you know SBM doesn't have some brand new treatment that is just fucking awesome? You don't. I, for one, am thoroughly intrigued by how that song is going to sound as a Pearl Jam song.
Really looking forward to it.
Personally I love Sleeping By Myself and am interested in hearing the full band version. Did they slow it down? Speed it up? Add a solo/instrumental section? New phrasing or verses? Who knows. It will be weird to hear another version of it but it has amazing potential.ABQ 93, Las Cruces 95, ABQ 98, Bridge School 10/30/99, Lubbock 00, ABQ 00, Denver 03, State College 03, San Diego 03, Vegas 03, PHX 03, D.C. 03, Camden 7/5/03, NYC 7/8/03 + 7/9/03, Vegas 06, San Francisco 7/15/06 + 7/16/06 + 7/18/06, Kansas City 10, [EV:ABQ 11/6/12], Chicago 13, PHX 13, Denver 14--PJ24!, Telluride 16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/18/18, Phoenix 22, Denver 22, Vegas 5/16/24

I'm not sure, but my guess on the answer to that question is because they feel like it.South of Seattle wrote:I'm sure this is probably in the thread somewhere but why do they alternate showing bits and pieces for the artwork and then release the next song as just the video?

The "let the records play" title makes me think of the 80's song by Chaka khan?? Let the music play. I'm sore it'll be nowhere near that song but right now that's all I hear...

I'm also really loving this whole thing. Yea...some of the letters are a stretch but I think it's pretty cool. It's art. We have to leave room for interpretation.
Thanks...let the debate continue....

I for some reason think "let the records play" will be like supersonic, which i don't like very much.
I'm most excited for "yellow moon" 8-)...The Moon is Rollin' Round....0 -
Geez, yeah, I would be disappointed if it or any other song sounded like Supersonic. One of my least favorite PJ songs. I have higher hopes, so I hope you're wrong and not me!CopTheRiotAct wrote:I for some reason think "let the records play" will be like supersonic, which i don't like very much.

I think it will definitely be a rocker, likely with some punk influence, but not shitty like Supersonic! With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

pretty sure outside of the most hardcore PJ fans, not too many had heard the uke version of Can't Keep before Riot act. Might be the same fore this one. Maybe it will be awesome, I hope it is. I'm just saying after 4 years I thought they would have had more than a song already out there. Is that OK for my opinion?
An earlier uke version showed itself on this dvd but it was obviously after Riot Act:

Also yall missing the most obvious point. Comparing SBM with Can't Keep is futile. Why? Because Can't Keep is a gorgeous song, uke or otherwise. What you have here with SBM is just weak ass nonsense. So no matter what kind of band treatment this weakness receives, it will stay as weakness.I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...

I think I got half way through that uke album and fell asleep. I don't even remember the song so it'll be new to me.0
