(This epic show was delayed 3 hours due to severe weather)." That nod to the rain/experience of the show is neat.

agree that it is ugly, disagree it can be used to trade for the PJ20 billboard. think a few people thought the same thing with the seattle sasquatch and now theres a seller in the LD that has moved his asking price below face. 200 floating around is a lot too. the hype of wrigley will still carry this to a sell-out, but it wont achieve anywhere near pj20 billboard status.
wish in addition to the rain drop overlay, he couldve thrown in a few lightning bolts (for the storm and the new album).

munks clear overlay sounds cool too.
people still go on about the billboard poster like its a legend of a print, when it was really very poor.
I haven't really liked any of the three made so far......
hey paul...we arent in disagreement here. im not a fan of any of the mural prints. but the art of the billboard print is still better than this one...and theres always something about "the first" and will continue to be held in high regard.
i may also be wrong about long term value of this mural print - it will sell out fast, i just dont think after market price will sustain high (near billboard prices)...and i think its been overkill in wrigley merch. this will celebrate the 5th poster for this event...the ames and munk APs are already falling in price and i must admit i'm surprised the shuss and emek APs are doing as well as they are.
overrated hype. it was definitely a unique experience, but the cloud of "what ifs" and "what couldve been" caused by the weater delay, the poor handling of wrigley merch, made it less than epic for a lot of people. i usually try to go for APs for all the prints of the shows that i've been to, but this is the first time i passed on even trying. i didnt try for the munk or emek APs (missed the shuss AP completely) and i'll probably sit this one out tomorrow. but you are right, PJ fans are crazy for stuff, so why not one more poster?

Don't think so...
In the words of Bill Simmons... never trade a dollar for 4 quarters.
We all watched this thing unfold on the actual billboard at the climax of the PJ20 weekend (the period of time before PJ took the stage for night 2). It was very cool to see these guys up there painting this thing over the Vitamin Water ad. I dont think it is a bad print either. A couple of creatures and some colors that pop out and contrast well. It really does look good in person, and I will have no issues on framing it (its high on the list)
This print has become some sort of defacto symbol of the weekend for a lot of people.
Forcing these prints out around events doesnt/wont have the same effect.
I do not like how "saturated" the posters are getting as a collector. My idea is to obtain and frame each show I have been to. By heart/OCD Im a completionist by nature. For PJ20, the only print I do not have is the Mark 5 10c print which will likely run me like 6 bills someday or I will always have that in the back of my head. From an 'art' standpoint all these prints by so many artists cant be construed as a negative though.

I don't see how the Munk Hot Dog print gets love over this.
personally i really dislike the junk hot dog print i saw it at the stand could have bought it and didn't.. really ugly imo.. i like this billboard maybe because i watched it taking shape, and i had a great weekend.. love the rain drops too!

Same here. I could have bought it as well but thought it was horrible. Easily Munk's worst which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to his print for that show. Passed on the Ames as well.
I like the Ames but I thought the emek and shuss were better prints for a concert at wrigley!
