Listened to this some the other day and forgot how good it was. A very emotional show for sure, but a special one.
Really enjoyed this show. With all that happened at Roskilde, and what I can only imagine what must have happened leading up to the band getting to the point when they could actually walk out on stage...it just blows my mind.

Incredible emotions, and the love acknowledged by Ed at the end of the show that the band received from the audience...wow! After hearing this one again, especially the band's performance as good as it was, I'd put this one in my top ten PJ shows of all time...considering, most of all, the significance of their future as a band, being able to go on, not only on that particular night...but, for as long as they have!

Amazing night for all that were there, I'm sure of that!

While the band did not give that show the ape/man logo to signify their favorite shows of 2000, clearly it meant a lot to them. Ed acknowledges this in the 2008 va beach boot. VA beach 00 is a quiet boot, filled with more somber songs than usual. I agree, it's a very good performance and one pj fans should give a listen. It's overlooked far too often.

I actually did not enjoy this one as much as I hoped. It starts out well, but the middle of the main set feels so unenergized and abit sloppy at times. I've listened to the second night in West Palm Beach 00 a lot here lately. It's a bit of a sloppy gig, but full of energy and a loose vibe that I enjoyed. I didn't get that with Charlotte 00. What's your take?

Now Charlotte 2003, it's an energized gig that delivers for the most part. Hopefully Charlotte 2013 will too. 8-)

I tried to do that once, I never got through them all! Good luck!

  • Berlin 2_2012.

Oceans is a great opener. I heard it in Verdun (Montreal) in 1993, great song that doesn't get played enough.

    Breakerfall follows with great intensity.

Other highlights: Sad -Not for you -Present Tense towards the end of the main set.

Mother/Just Breathe, Nothingman, Blood in the encores.

    This band is great!

Excellent start to this gig with a Binaural double-header of Of The Girl and Breakerfall. Hail Hail, Severed Hand and The Fixer follow before Low Light appears. 6 songs in and I'm thinking this is a great start to the gig! Marker In The Sand is next and it is not a great performance, I think it's Mike's guitar that has problems throughout. He's back on form for Even Flow. At this point the set has flowed nicely but the next 4 songs don't really flow together - Unthought Known>Small Town>Got Some>Given To Fly. Immortality is great and a first performance in 2009 for Satan's Bed follows. Ed flubs part of Amongst The Waves early on and Evolution and Blood close the main set, though Ed's vocals aren't particularly great on either song. Unfortunately the 2nd half of the main set doesn't match the 1st half.

Ed & Jeff open the 1st encore with Bee Girl, followed by Just Breathe. Ben Harper again joins the band for Red Mosquito and I do love this version. Daughter is next and Ed tags a brief Sympathy For The Devil and then WMA at the end of the song. Supersonic & Spin The Black Circle complete the encore.

2nd encore begins with I Believe In Miracles dedicated to Johnny Ramone. A very good Crazy Mary with Mike & Boom riffing back and too a highlight. Alive is next and Yellow Ledbetter closes the show.

This would be a highlight show for me if it wasn't for the 2nd half of the main set.

    Hartford 2010

Solid boot and show - one of my favorites of 2010 and of the NE tour from that year. The band and Ed are definitely into this show as Ed makes perfectly obvious throughout the show.

Unthought Known starts things off and certainly isn't my favorite choice as an opener, but it works before going into Corduroy to follow with a killer solo from Mike. Set staples DTE, Got Some, and Severed Hand keep things going into a great combination of Dissident (always nice to see this make an appearance) and excellent version of Low Light. Even Flow is played in the consistent middle spot in the set, which is followed by an absolutely superb version of Nothingman with a great sing along. Other highlights of the main set are great versions of I Got Shit, and a really good combination of Satan's Bed followed by Lukin toward the end of the main set. Johnny Guitar in an usual spot closes the main set, and it actually works pretty well.

After Just Breathe to open the first encore, it's fantastic with Speed Of Sound, SOLAT, the OTOTO Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love which sounds like they've practiced it for years and Mike can nail playing Van Halen, and a blistering Porch to end the first encore.

The Fixer, Crazy Mary, Alive, Indifference, and All Along The Watchtower are played in the second encore to close the show. I think it would work much better if they played AATW before Indifference to close the show, but works well ending the high energy show with a high energy song.

Definitely a show where Ed is a little more sentimental and talks about love quite a bit during the show. Seems they always enjoy playing in Hartford and always have great shows there. One of the better boots of 2010 I think.

I recommend to go back and listen to this one again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I think not "sloppy" but almost uncontrollable energy, not unenergized by any means. As the next day after VA Beach, it's coming through the speakers to me as, "Hey, we CAN do this!", and the band is on such an incredible high from being back on stage that you can hear it in every instrument and in Ed's voice.

One of the best versions of Hail, Hail and Do The Evolution that I've ever heard, coupled that with a great setlist too of one great song after another! (except for Last Kiss, that is)

Gotta love Ed breaking the mic four songs in.

One thing that bums me out about the beginning of the show is Mike's guitar was low during and on the boot. A shame. I definitely wanted to him shred the solos on "Corduroy" and "Severed Hand."

"Low Light" was one of the highlights of the night for me. It would have fit even more perfectly if they played it at the Meadows. Sun going down and them playing it would have been amazing.

The speech before "Nothingman" and then them absolutely nailing it was great, especially with the crowd singing along to it.

"Gonna See My Friends" closed the main set, not JG, but it was toward the end of the set.

Nothing can beat the trio of SOLAT-ATBL-Porch of any show I've heard. I'm still wondering what the UConn women had to do with ATBL.

I only wish the singer from Band of Horses didn't come out for "Watchtower." He ruined that version. Otherwise, great and fun night. Can't wait to do it again in two months! :D

And Charlotte 2000 (which was also my first PJ concert ever). I Got Shit from that show is still my favorite version of that song. And the improv.

I am listening to Berlin II 2012. I imported this show into iTunes from the official CD bootleg I bought.

However, I am noticing some serious sonic anomalities during Even Flow, Eruption, Sad and so on (a slight but very noticeable crackling sound).

Does anyone experience the same issue? Could you please turn up your headphones or speakers and check for me?

I listened to this boot yesterday and again this morning and didn't get any sonic anomalities.
