great show.. band were great.. who gives a fuck about start time.. they were not that late getting on and the weather would have delayed it regardless.

what i cant understand is why people were lining up for tshirts and merch when the band were playing. Had to make a quick pit-stop and on my way back i noticed a line of about 40 people deep waiting in line for a tshirt while the band were rocking it out on stage. very strange to me.

    Inexcusable and very sad

My wife waited on line during the show. She wanted to surprise me. Was really cool of her.

The show was never going to start at 7:30. Those who had expectations that 7:30 was the start time should know that 7:30 is early to pack everyone into a venue like Wrigley in a city like Chicago. That is why they having opening acts. I couldn't believe everyone on here thinking the band was coming out at 7:30.

I wonder if the weather was a surprise ? Had they started earlier they might hsve done the whole set

Still.... It's the bands call and honestly ? Seems they did a stunning job in the face of adversity
Great show! Anyone hear about what happened at the Phish concert? They played three songs and canceled the rest of the show.

So, they started late and only played seven songs (and, what an awesome seven songs they were!). Long break, thunderstorms, stopped, more thunderstorms, stopped, even more thunderstorms...

There was a point where probably ANY other band would have said, "You know, it's gonna hurt but we have to..."

    But, THIS BAND DIDN'T!

The thought of starting on time and getting through most or all of the first set...you know, they probably would have canceled the rest of the show at that point. But, they started late, around 8:15pm, and played until after...

    2AM!!!

    So, even I don't normally bitch...so, I won't.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, ever so much, Pearl Jam! Oh, by the way...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STONE!

Cool of you to say. I didn't get to go to the show. But, damn I can't wait for Worcester! PJ is the best live band of the last 25 years.

At the end of the day we got a 32 song show... we got some epic memories and we got to see a band play til 2:00am at Wrigley (unlikely to ever happen again).... I saw probably THE BEST versions of RVM, Even Flow, Corduroy and Eruption I have ever seen live and I've seen enough to have a comparison.... I will say this, I sat in my seat patiently when there was delayed start, waited patiently during the storm delay and was rewarded with a pretty great show... I do not think it would have been unreasonable for them to do just a bit more communicating, what I mean is when a show says start is 7:30 usually SOMETHING is happening no later than 7:40 for every band I have ever seen and if not they tell you why, so saying "hey we have some issues, be patient we'll start soon" would have been courteous, also when Ed announced the rain delay he asked us to trust him but he also gave us a timeline that indicated t us that it was going to take an hour and a half give or take, when it was clear it was going to take longer they could have made an announcement or put it up on the two large screens on the side of the stage which were clearly operational throughout, making a rational suggestion on how you can improve is not whining, some on here are whining but some are making reasonable suggestions... that said it was all worth it, great show, great night

Probably because they thought the lines would be shorter during the show. The merch lines were ridiculous before the show. No different than people going to get a beer during a show in my opinion.

Concert sucked, should've been started on time. You aren't Guns and Fucking Roses.

    Completely ruined your own concert.

    Shameful and unacceptable.
