For the NiN shows you don't get a ticket. You and your friend have to show up at the door together and they let you in right then and there.

Good solution for anti-scalping. Bad solution for losing consciences of a physical ticket.

Also keep in mind I've heard scalpers are standing next to the will call window offering people money as they pick up tickets.

Hopefully these people really work for the 10c and will take the tickets and give them to fans that can't get in.

I'm sure 10club is handing out hundreds and thousand of dollars in cash to folks to get their tickets from them and then giving them to folks without tickets....yeah thats probably whats happening.

I left one part out that I thought was implied, they wouldn't give the seller the cash. They would just take the tickets for violating the 10c rules. So I offer you $1000 for your tickets, you say yes. I say you just broke the 10c rules and take your tickets and membership away.

Then I take those confiscated tickets and give them to the people that can't get in.

I don't buy this argument that the lottery makes it easier for scalpers through multiple accounts, (signing up their wife, kids etc). Don't you need a photo id to pick up the tickets? Or do they somehow get around that too?
(Yeah, I acknowledge that making the tickets available two days in advance is easier for scalpers, but I believe this is exclusive for Wrigley, no?)

Furthermore, I say the F5 system gave scalpers a better shot at getting tickets then me as they have the time to sit on their computer for 5-6 hours on a Tuesday because that's their job. I have a job that doesn't allow for sitting on the computer for hours trying to score tickets.

Please don't give me the "true fans take a vacation day" or any of that, because that blows up on you once the servers crash & the sale gets postponed; then you just burned a vacation day with nothing to show for it.

I can understand longstanding members' frustrations, and I'm sure the band does too on some level, I just think at the end of the day they want to give other people in the 10C a chance to get up close.

I'm 2 for 3 in the lottery........ I don't love it, but I hated the old system.

What are you going to do? (Besides quit the 10c, which I think very few people will do despite their bold proclamations)

I remember when we had to stand in line for tickets. Ticketmaster put in a rule that said if more than three people were on line for tickets you had to do a lottery for the line. 10 minutes before the lottery a van would pull up and a guy would get out with about 5 homeless guys to stand in line.

Scumbags will find a way to cheat the system.

I bought ticket through NIN Pre-sale and my email indicates hard tickets will be given. They have your name printed on them.

Correct about having to enter immediately with entire party.

You are also allowed early entry

  • I think the only logical solution to the problem would be to start a 10 club dna database, or maybe retina scan .
Just think, they scan your ticket , then your eye .
How far would someone go to see PJ ? Maybe you would start seeing people at shows wearing eye patches, or clandestine labs creating some type of counterfeit contact lenses! just something to think about........

I remember seeing the homeless in line back in the day, getting their tix, and getting like 20 bucks from the scalper after they turned them over...and blatantly in front of everyone, no subtlety whatsoever.

Kind of like PJ in 96. I have my Randall's Island ticket with my name printed on it (And my buddy has a ticket with my name printed on it too), I think 10 club's main problem is that its membership has swelled too much now to implement these type of measures without a real logistical nightmare.

This was in my confirmation email from the 10c

"- Reselling tickets is against the rules. Failure to comply will result in loss of any current Ten Club tickets you may have as well as your membership. No exceptions."

From this i'm assuming that you can't resell period, either above or below face. So even if a 10c member sold for face, it doesn't matter what happens afterward. They technically broke the rules anyway.
    Alright, alright, alright!

Furthermore, I say the F5 system gave scalpers a better shot at getting tickets then me as they have the time to sit on their computer for 5-6 hours on a Tuesday because that's their job. I have a job that doesn't allow for sitting on the computer for hours trying to score tickets.

what you're missing here is that people who scalp tickets for a living don't really want to "work". They don't want a job, they don't want to sit at a computer... fuck they don't want to be honest.

They are not going to do anything for 5-6 hours, even if it has the potential to make them a shitload of cash. They are straight up fucking lazy ass people who would rather take advantage of a situation/people than earn an honest living.

I would think that a lottery type situation would benefit a scalper because all they have to do is click once and they're done. easy. No scalper is sitting at a computer for 5-6 hours hitting f5... I gaurentee it.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I disagree. The secondary market is huge. A company can give a room or an entire floor of kids 10 bucks an hour to hit F5. You are thinking about the local guy on the street corner. It's moved way beyond that. Hell, my credit card company will get a room full of kids to try and get tickets for me as part of their benefits of using their card. There are tons on ticket brokers that do this for a living.

The lottery is much more fare than F5 for the common fan.

Sick of all these complaining threads!! Merch lines are to long, it's hot, it's going to rain, I couldn't get a poster, shirts sold out, the lottery sucks, why GA, scalpers are buying tickets, why did tenclub do this, why did they do that, blah blah blah!! Oh my goodness!! Just shut up already!! And deal with it!! You want to get into the show then find away! You don't need a scalper or stubhub to get into the show! Shit my friend flew out of Mex without a ticket in hand and was able to buy a ticket at face! WTF!! Next time be more prepared... next time use your energy to find a ticket instead of using it to complain on the boards.... There are probably over 40,000 tickets to this event... you guys want to complain about a few hundred scalpers, probably way less then a 100 resellers, and you want to blame them for your problem...WTF.. :fp:
Sick of all the crying.... You're adults!

You think the complaing is bad now, imagine how much bitching therewould be if they actually did go paperless?
