I loved it to Merrick!! I agree I think its one thats better appeciated live."Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -
I loved it too, as did all my peeps. Sounds like a Stones cover should; a bit rough.0

i'm with this quote...and who cares if wasn't 110% perfect for you, personally...fact of the matter is that it was a 1st time played and i think anybody who was in that stadium with me would agree with me and say that is was a HUGE surprise. it was amazing. a great GREAT song, indeed.
what frustrates me is the original poster failed to overlook this, instead of just posting on the negative...this dude doesn't look at his glass as being 1/2 full...
fact of the matter remains...PJ are at the top of their league for making each show A SPECIAL UNIQUE EXPERIENCE...but then again maybe the original poster of this thread would rather the band do the same setlist every night and to NOT take chances...
pittsburg was my last show of this tour and as i sit here and type this i can say that FOR SURE it was a special show...thanks to the band for starting the 2nd leg off on the right foot
BEST BAND EVER0 -

I am still waiting to hear the Srones do it live at a show I'm at. I like the song a lot, but, it has always had the stigma of a crappy video
It has always been one of my favorite stones songs, especially loved the version done on the 81-82 tour. I was fortunate enough to see it live in 97 and last year by the stones, and I thought that Pearl Jam did a VERY good job with this song. Eddie mixed up a few lyrics, and even caught himself and switched back a few times to the correct verse. The rhythmn guitar was right on and the lead was different than Ronnie/Mick Taylor, but a very nice interpretation. I enjoyed it and hope to see PJ play this one a little more often.
It will be hard pressed to find a bigger stones fan than I am, and as a die hard, I can tell you that PJ did the song justice and gave it life of their own. There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0 -
i like their version better than the stones....."Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh
