As long as it isn't thunderstorms, the rain isn't a big deal. I was at Springsteen last year at Wrigley and we all just soaked up the rain. It was a mess but a total blast. Bruce even came out and sang in the crowd and got soaked himself.

That said, this time around I'm packing a couple of those $1 disposable ponchos. Work great for football games.

A severe thunderstorm threat by late in the day into Friday night. Windy, quite hot and humid with a sun/cloud mix.

Southwest winds 16 to 32 mph and gusty above 35 mph at times in the afternoon. Clouds build with active thunderstorms a threat in the afternoon and evening. Clusters of thunderstorms likely a portion of Friday night, some capable of downpours, powerful wind gusts and HAIL. Storm may impact up to 60% of the area. Afternoon highs return to the mid 90s with NO lake cooling and heat indices may approach
106 degrees again if thunderstorms, as expected, hold off until later in the day.

    You cannot make this up.

I don't care about rain, hail or wind, but lightning scares the crap out of me.

If you look at the details they no longer have storms at night. Only during the day. I know it's still a couple days away but this is a good sign

Here are a couple of links to refresh periodically:

    National Weather Service, Chicago: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/
Specifically within the above website, this is the forecast: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/lfp.php
A little technical but this documents the science/computer models and the forecaster's reasoning behind the forecast: http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php ... glossary=1

Keep refreshing the above, 1st two links. One the main page, keep abreast of watches and warnings the day of the concert.

Tom Skilling at WGN is, for the most part, a weather reporting god for this area. He's been nearly perfect the last couple of years with predicting the most severe weather within 48 hours. This is what he posted today:
A severe thunderstorm threat by late in the day into Friday night. Windy, quite hot and humid with a sun/cloud mix.

Southwest winds 16 to 32 mph and gusty above 35 mph at times in the afternoon. Clouds build with active thunderstorms a threat in the afternoon and evening. Clusters of thunderstorms likely a portion of Friday night, some capable of downpours, powerful wind gusts and hail. Storm may impact up to 60% of the area. Afternoon highs return to the mid 90s with NO lake cooling and heat indices may approach 106-degrees again if thunderstorms, as expected, hold off until later in the day
While other good links have been posted, I would suggest using this one: http://www.chicagoweathercenter.com/
