From Pop Market deal. Already have the first album on vinyl, so I may give it to my cousin if he doesn't have it.

Can't wait til ol' Jacky boy gets around to that second batch of reissues. That album has just got to sound epic on vinyl.

It sounds fine, but it's wobbling up and down pretty bad. If it sounds ok is that all that matters or could it being doing damage to the stylus?

I don't think a little wobble will affect it much, but that's a damn shame either way.

    Original from 2002.

This was a pretty cool find and was still sealed. I left the plastic on it for three days thinking I'll just leave it like this, but then I broke down.....records are for listening to, and it sounds great! :D

That's a fantastic set. Johnny Cash's voice, so deep and pure. Love the dynamics of Hurt and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face just goes straight for the soul.

Agreed. That may be the only one left he has to reissue.

The pressing that is out sounds OK. I don't think they put much effort into it because it was for promo only. I would like to see how it would sound if it was recut and put on 180g.

I was hoping that it would be done for Black Friday:RSD, but then I realized they still have the Elephant singles to do. So it could very well be a RSD release for next year. Or maybe in 2015 for the 10th anniversary.

When they went with the red/black Elephant for RSD this year, the news release said look for a standard reissue later this year. I have a hunch that'll come with the reissues of GBMS and Icky Thump, with fully analog remastering and the whole bit.

    Hopefully. I'm not optimistic though.

We got vinyl for breakfast today :) Been walking around that album for quite some time now, and I finally caved. It seems to be radio promo copy, has a cut corner (on the lower left, whatever that is for) and the seller said it's never been played. All seems in great condition. It sounds awesome :D

I wouldn't normally be, but Jack White's a vinyl fanatic and when they did the first run of reissues it was under the premise that they were splitting the WS catalog in half and reissuing everything sooner or later.

Hi Dewie, how's it going? I've been out of action for a bit, but I was wondering what you think of the sound on the new Pearl Jam single

Oh, I have no doubt it will happen at some point, It just seems like they are in no rush. It had been a couple years since the first three before they even approached Elephant. And they filled that void with the singles from those first 3. I have a feeling they may stay that course and do the Elephant singles this fall and then maybe get to Satan next year or because they haven't been in a rush to get it out, ever, maybe in 2015 for the 10th anniversary.

I don't think they are doing 3 this year. Icky Thump is pretty easy to come by. There isn't a rush to get a TMR branded version on the market to have it compete with the WB version still. I took the Elephant in the fall to mean just a standard always available black pressing not the next wave of reissues. I mean we'll see, but like I said, I'm not optimistic.

I think it's pretty cool. Has a fairly unique sound, especially that intro, which is pretty impressive for a band 20 years on. We'll see how it sits when we hear the rest of the album. An album full of similarly punk inspired tunes will be a big miss for me, but from alot of the talk there should be plenty of variety.

Yep you're right Dewie, a stone-cold classic of an album right here. His American Recordings with Rick Rubin are all really good from what I've heard, I have two on vinyl now and will try pick up another one or two in the future...
