I think it sounds nothing like Comatose. Comatose was heavy/distorted guitars played loud and slow with slow/deep singing by Eddie. This is very upbeat and fast, like STBC. The lyrics are dark, but sung in an upbeat way. That style reminds me of Down.

This production sounds like Yield, but the song feels like it would fit on S/T. The lyrics have Binaural-era written all over it. The bridge in this song is as good as any the band has done.

Solid 8/10 from me. But WWS and The Fixer got old fast, we'll see how this one does.

Nothing like Comatose? Give another listen. Song is starting to grow on me slightly. Liking the the refrain and the solo more and more. Guess I was just looking for something fresher instead of another alphabet soup of older songs rehashed.

It will rock live, no doubt. Wrigley in a week...holy shitballs!

    Crap.

Music is fine, but the vocals. The vocals man. I can't say anything good about them. The level in the mix is poor, the lyrics are bad, the whole style of his singing is bad.

Honestly the vocals sound like they are from Backspacer. And that isn't a good thing.

...not going to be even close to being the best song on the album. Lately, PJ for some reason chooses their first single poorly, and by poorly I mean not what I would have picked (after listening to the entire album) to hype up a new album. Most recent examples are WWS and the Fixer.

...also, not the best way to get my wife to want to go to the upcoming shows with me

I think the lyrics are pretty remarkable. To each his own I guess.

The vocals are very Eddie from S/T and Backspacer but better/Stronger/more straight forward.
It is a better rocker than anything similiar from Backspacer, and I would say S/T too (Comatose/Big Wave). Much due to the chorus here, I dig it even though it smells Bad Religion.

yea, you can definitely hear the overproduced vocals and feel the autotune.

yea, it sounds something like comatose (mYm is MUCH better)

I've listened to it about 20 times and I just can get into it. It feels so forced. I guess I long for the days when PJ had that No Code/Binaural/Riot Act sound. I don't understand why they pick songs like these as singles. It's a catchy pop/punk song. I get that. I just don't dig the bouncy Backspacer type filler songs.

With much respect, I seriously doubt autotune is used in Ed's vocals. You might be hearing overdubs/vocal layering, but no autotune IMO.

In response to the others comments on Mind Your Manners, if it's that bad, why listen? Does intense love of the band draw out intense criticism? Guess PJ is a conditional love for some...

Ok, well I was responding to your autotune comment and some of the other's criticism of Mind Your Manners. I also prefaced my post with 'much respect' - also you don't know who I am, so why use juvenile words man? Let's agree to disagree. You are certain auto-tune is used and I don't.
